Zoeva Pink Elements Complete Brush Set

22/01/2019

Zoeva is by far one of my favourite brands for brushes ever. My first proper brush set was from Zoeva and I still love using and buying them. A long time ago they started to come out with brush sets with fun coloured handles. One of those sets came with brushes with hot pink handles and I fell in love with them. However, I already have a ton of brushes so for a while there I just couldn’t justify the purchase. Until I saw that they were on sale on Black Friday. At that moment I knew I just had to get them. So I ended up buying the Zoeva Pink Elements Complete Brush Set and I have been using them ever since. Today it’s time for the review, so if you’re interested in finding out more about this set, make sure you continue reading this post!

The Zoeva Pink Elements Complete Brush Set comes in this shiny silver little bag. This is a very handy bag for travelling and it’s actually made of pretty nice quality material. Since I bought sets from Zoeva before I already have a bag like this, but well, I still think it’s really nice they give that to you as a little extra. It’s big enough to fit an entire set of brushes as well as some makeup products. If it will fit your daily makeup routine depends on how much and how bulky products you use, but for me it’s a little too small for that.

Like I said the brushes all have these gorgeous hot pink handles. I do really love that. They stad out so they’re easy to find in my collection and I think it has something girly. I’m someone who does think that coloured brushes can look super cheap really quickly, but in this case I don’t think the pink makes them look cheap at all. I actually think that these brushes have a very premium and sleek look. Especially because of the gunmetal metal thingies around the top. It’s just all so pretty!

The Zoeva Pink Elements Complete Brush Set comes with a total of 12 brushes all meant to be used on the eyes. It’s a very complete set of brushes and therefore a great set to buy if you’re just a starter and need a proper set of brushes to get started! I also think it’s a great value set because most Zoeva brushes cost about €10 and now you get 12 for just €75. It’s still quite a lot of money, but considering the amazing quality of Zoeva brushes I think it’s a great bang for your buck!

Zoeva Pink Elements Complete Brush Set – €75

The fluffy crease brushes

Okay, so let’s quickly dive into the brushes that come in this set. Most of them aren’t new to be, but I do like having duplicates of my favourite brushes. Aside from that sometimes I have noticed a difference in quality between similar brushes in different collections from Zoeva.

Zoeva 227 Luxe Soft Definer – This is literally my favourite brush from Zoeva. It can be compared to the MAC 217 brush but I think it’s better. It’s a fluffy brush that works great for applying your transition shade. It also works amazing as a blending brush. I do think the one from the regular collection has a bit softer hairs than this one, or more flexible, but that difference can also be a result of the fact that this one is newer.

Zoeva 228 Luxe Crease – The luxe crease brush is pretty much the perfect blending brush ever. I think that everything about this brush is exactly right. It has the right amount of hairs, it’s not too thick but also not too thin and the softness and flexibility of the hairs is just perfect. The shape is right and it just does its job so well. I really fell in love with this brush!

Zoeva 224 Luxe Defined Crease – The last fluffy crease brush in this set is the luxe defined crease. This is a more sparse crease brush. It’s great for lighter blending or applying shades in the crease in a more sheer manner. I do think it’s a very unique brush but it works great for me. I use it more than I initially expected to.

The pencil brushes

Next up there are two pencil brushes in this set. These are both duplicates in my collection but since they are brushes I use literally everyday, I really don’t mind that at all!

231 Luxe Petit Crease – It might seem a bit strange that the ‘petit’ crease is the biggest one of the two, but it is. This is a thicker pencil brush or a small pointy crease brush, whatever you prefer calling it. This is the brush that did disappoint me the most out of the set. I do have one in the regular edition and somehow that’s way less thick and way more precise than this brush is. I do think they have changed the brush completely because I also have the rose gold version of it and that’s just as thick as this one, but I just hoped it would be different. It still is a great brush to apply your crease colour with and I do use it a ton!

230 Luxe Pencil – The luxe pencil brush is a more precise version of the petit crease. It’s a lot smaller and thinner. I like using this for precision work or when I’m about to apply a very deep shade and want to make sure I have as much control over it as possible. It works really well for me and I do think it’s one of my favourite brushes!

The category I can’t come up with a name for

This next category is a bit of a random one. It comes with great brushes but they don’t really have a clear relationship with each other.

142 Concealer Buffer – This is the only brush in the bunch that isn’t supposed to be used for eyeshadow. I feel like this brush is in literally every set Zoeva ever comes out with and I think I have this like three or four times. I don’t really use this brush too often but the quality is nice. It’s just not a brush I have a lot of purposes for.

234 Luxe Smokey Shader – This is one of my favourite shader brushes. It’s a nice white haired brush which I like a lot and it has just the right size. It’s nice and fluffy and dense enough to pick up a lot of colour. I think this brush does a great job at applying my all-over-lid colour and I love it. I have it like three times but in this case I like that because it’s a brush I need everyday.

226 Smudger – This smudger brush was one of the reasons why I wanted to get this set. In my oldest brush set from Zoeva, which is about like 7 years old now, I got a smudger brush I really loved but it’s so old and it needed to be replaced. And this one is so pretty and so perfect. It has a nice domed shape and it’s great from smudging some shadows along the lower lash line. I also think it’s great for smokey eyes or smudging out a liner!

237 Detail Shader – For the ones who read my blog regularly: I actually bought this brush on its own really recently. At the moment I bought this brush I didn’t realise I was going to buy a set that includes it a couple days later but well, it happened and I don’t hate it. It’s a great brush for precision work, but for a more in depth review about it, you should click here.

The liner brushes

This last category of brushes is full of brushes that can be used for lining things. Like eyeliner, but also making lines in your eyebrows. Okay, I’m drifting. This doesn’t make any sense. Let’s just start talking about the brushes.

317 Wing Liner – This is a very standard thin angled liner brush. It can be used to apply gel liner but also to make an eyeliner using eyeshadow (which is what I usually do with it) or to apply like an eyebrow pomade. It’s nice and precise and I do really like working with it.

315 Fine Liner – This is a brush I don’t really use that often, but it’s great for applying a really precise eyeliner. If allows you to apply the product in delicate strokes and with a lot of precision. Since I don’t use eyeliner at all it’s a brush that is a bit unnecessary to me, but I do like that it’s in here. It makes the set more complete.

322 Brow Line – This is another one of those brushes that I feel like come in literally every Zoeva brush set. It’s a bit of a thick, stiff and super dense angled brush made for applying cream and powder eyebrow products. For creams I do think it’s a bit too dense so I’d recommend using the Wing Liner for that, but for powder it works fine. It’s not my favourite brow brush ever, but it does its job.

All in all I do think that the Zoeva Pink Elements Complete Brush Set is a great set. I think that these brushes look absolutely stunning with the pink and the gunmetal and the quality is really nice as well. I think that Zoeva is by far the best brand when it comes to creating affordable but very high quality makeup brushes. I think this set is a great starters set for anyone new to makeup and in need for the perfect complete eye-brush set. It does come with a couple of brushes I never really use like the Fine Liner Brush and the Concealer Buffer, but that’s just personal preference.

With that being said I’m going to end this review. Thank you so much for reading it and I hope you enjoyed it. Be sure to let me know which brushes you love to use for your eyeshadow!
