Zoeva Cocoa Blend Voyager: The Ultimate Autumnal Palette!

02/11/2018

For years Zoeva has been my favourite brands when it comes to makeup brushes. However, they also have a wide collection of makeup products. So far I’d almost never tried anything from the makeup range, but I was very excited to do so. Therefore my boyfriend gifted me this amazingly adorable little palette from Zoeva. It’s the Zoeva Cocoa Blend Voyager Eyeshadow Palette. It’s the mini version of the full size Cocoa Blend palette and it looked absolutely amazing to me. I’ve been trying it out for a couple of weeks now, so I think today is the perfect day for a review. So, if you’re interested in finding out whether Zoeva’s eyeshadow palette is just as good as their brushes. Make sure you continue reading!

Before we jump into anything, let’s first discuss the packaging. The Zoeva Cacoa Blend Voyager Palette comes in a really pretty tiny palette. The outside is designed with brown and golden colours. I really like the design of it with all of the triangles. It has a very luxurious look to it. In terms of the way it feels, however, it isn’t necessarily luxurious feeling. The palette is made out of cardboard and that does add a different feel to it. It’s not bad at all. That’s not what I’m trying to say. However, it isn’t the most luxurious packagings of all. Considering the fact that this is a very affordable palette I don’t hate that, but I just wanted to let you guys know.

Anyway, the palette doesn’t come with a mirror on the inside which I think is a bummer as well. I do normally appreciate having a mirror inside my palettes. It’s not essential, but it does make life a lot easier. On a more positive note I do think that this is a very travel friendly palette because it’s very lightweight and compact. It doesn’t take in any space at all and it’s light as a feather.

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Voyager Eyeshadow Palette – €13,80

Having said all of that, let’s take a look at what’s on the inside. This is the most important part obviously. As you guys might know, there is a bigger Cocoa Blend palette in Zoeva’s collection. That comes with a ton of really pretty warm and chocolaty colours. This palette seems to be the compact version of that, including six of the best shades out of the full size thing. They made a really amazing selection of colours. You get one from everything and therefore this palette is perfect for creating an everyday look.

The over all look of this palette is really pretty and very autumnal. I love the pinky cranberry colour on the bottom. It’s perfect to get every look to go from neutral to unique and colourful. That in combination with the warm golden shade and the pretty bronze makes this the perfect nicole-palette. Oh and by the way, I really love the balance between shimmers and mattes in this palette. This makes it more versatile and even more prone to being okay to use on its own. I know that I talk a lot about that, using a palette on its own, but I just don’t like it when you have a palette and that isn’t enough to create an eye look. Especially with these smaller palettes that happens a lot. This one however is pretty complete in my eyes.

In terms of quality I didn’t really know what to expect. I mean, I know that affordable eyeshadows can be pretty pigmented these days, but my main struggle with them is more in the fact that they get very blurry once on the lids. However, Zoeva is a brand that is very good at creating the perfect products for a reasonable price, I mean look at their brushes, and therefore I did have pretty decent hopes for this palette.

In terms of texture I think it’s really amazing. The shadows are a tad bit on the powdery side, but all in all they have a very rich and creamy texture. They aren’t dry at all and are therefore very easy to apply. They go on smooth and evenly and have a lot of colour payoff.

When it comes to the blendability of the eyeshadows I think they are a-okay. They all are very easy to blend and most of them don’t blend away. The only colour I do think needs to be build up is Warm Notes, the cranberry shade. It might just be because I use this in combination with the bronze shade next to it, but somehow it doesn’t really stand out after only one application. Anyhow, when you build it up it does stand out, so it doesn’t bother me at all.

Bitter Start – Bitter Start is the first colour in this palette. It’s a very pretty matte white shade. I personally love using this as a highlight underneath my brow bone. It’s a lot more pigmented than your usually matte highlighting shade so I’m a big fan of it.

Substitute For Love – This is another one of the three matte shades in this palette and for me this acts as the perfect transition colour. It’s a warm medium brown tone and very versatile in my opinion. In terms of pigmentation I think it’s really nice and it’s also very easy to blend.

Freshly Toasted – Freshly Toasted is a deeper warm brown tone, again with a matte finish. It’s one of the two deeper shades in this palette and therefore I think it’s great to darken up the crease area with or you could use it as a powder liner. It’s not my favourite shade in the palette, but I’m glad it’s there.

Pure Ganache – Pure Ganache however is one of my favourites. It’s the worlds prettiest warm gold colour. I love using this all over the lid. It instantly makes you look very autumnal and glowing. It’s a very unique colour that you don’t see in every palette, which is what makes me love it even more.

Warm Notes – Then we have Warm Notes, the most colourful shade in the palette. It’s a very pretty purply cranberry shade and I love using this in the crease. It might look great all over the lid as well, but so far I have used it in the crease exclusively. In terms of pigment I think it’s amazing. The only thing I have to say about it is that it does blend away a little bit, so you do have to build it up if you want it to stand out.

Subtle Blend – Lastly we have Subtle Blend, the prettiest shimmery bronze of all. I think this is the perfect shade to use in the crease but it’s also amazing to use all over the lid if you want to make your look a bit more smokey. It’s very pigmented and easy to work with. I really love using this!

All in all I’m a huge fan of the Zoeva Cocoa Blend Voyager Palette. I think it has exactly the right shades in it and that makes it perfect for everyday use. Because of its small size it’s perfect for on the go. In terms of quality I think this palette is beyond amazing. It’s super affordable, but that definitely doesn’t make it less amazing. I just think that this is the perfect eyeshadow palette for autumn and if you don’t have it already you should get it!

With that being said I think it’s time to end today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review, and be sure to let me know what you think of this eyeshadow palette!
