Eyelash curlers.. Some people hate them, some people can’t go a day without them. I’m part of the last group. While it’s not like my life depends on an eyelash curler, I do use them everyday. I have been using them since the day I started doing my makeup and I’ve never stopped using it. Today I’m going to review a rather classy eyelash curler, one by Nars. I’ve been using more affordable eyelash curlers for years and I was very curious to see if spending a little more on one would make a difference. If you’re interested in finding out, make sure you continue reading!
The Nars Eyelash Curler comes in a rather fancy packaging. While most eyelash curlers I ever bought came in plastic bags, this one comes in an actual box. I really like that about it. It adds something to the overall experience and makes it feel like you’re dealing with a very luxurious product.
The eyelash curler itself looks and feels rather fancy too. It’s quite hefty, it’s heavier than I initially expected, and it’s completely black, which is something I haven’t seen before either. I think the black makes it look very professional and the weight makes it feel very luxurious. Overall I really like those features and I like the look of it.
But when you spend almost 20 bucks on an eyelash curler, something about it has to be special right? It can’t just be the fact that it’s heavy, black and has Nars graved into the back. When you first look at it you probably won’t see anything special about it. It actually looks like the most basic eyelash curler ever dipped in black dye.
However, when you use this little guy you might feel that there is something about it that makes it different from all the rest. Please keep in mind that my opinion could and probably is completely affected by placebo-effect, but it could also just be very true. The thing with this eyelash curler is, is that it’s very easy to use and very painless. It’s also very gentle but it gets the job done like no other.
Of course you can still pinch your eyelids with this eyelash curler. You can with literally every eyelash curler, but when I’m using this one it doesn’t happen as frequently. The shape of the curler is perfect for the shape of my eyeballs which is why it fits perfectly in that area and (most of the time) prevents me from pinching myself.
Because of the soft cushion inside the curler and the not too sharp top part, it feels like this curler is very gentle on the eyelashes. You don’t have to be scared that it will just cut off all of your lashes, not at all. However, this eyelash curler is very effective. Because it’s so gentle I didn’t expect it to be, but it is. My lashes haven’t looked as perfectly curled in my entire life as right now when I started using this curler. It’s absolutely incredible!
Overall I’m very impressed by this eyelash curler. I did want it to be more than a cheap version, but I wasn’t sure whether or not I could expect that. In the end I’m really glad I splurged on this little tool because for me it just makes a whole lot of a difference. The shape of the curler is perfect for my eyes, it’s gentle and it get’s the job done like no other. In my opinion this eyelash curler is totally worth the splurge!
The Nars Eyelash Curler is available here and here for €22,- to €18,45.
That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know if you’d ever splurge on a more high end eyelash curler!
XOXO, Nicole.
