We all know that there are good products and bad product. This is the case with both budget proof makeup as well as with high end makeup. Since this week is budget week on my blog I’m going to focus on the worst budget products I have ever tried. Usually I throw away (or give away) products I don’t like, so I won’t be able to show you all of the products I hate, but this is still a great selection. If you’re interested in finding out which budget products I really didn’t like, make sure you keep on reading!
Let’s start off with two nail polishes. The first one is from the Essence Nauti Girl collection. I usually don’t like Essence nail polishes, never have, never will, but this one is actually worse than the regular ones. For some reason it was impossible to properly polish your nails with it, and if you finally managed to do so, it chips within a day. Nope, not a product for me!
The other nail polish is by E.L.F. I’m actually in love with the colour and the application of it is okay, not too bad. The problem with this polish is that it chips in less than 24 hours. That’s just not ok. I’m not polishing my nails so it can look ugly within a day. So nope, not a polish I’d wear again.
Next up are two brushes by E.L.F. from the Essential range. I heard these were great so I actually bought three shader brushes and the blending brush shown on the picture, which I regretted a lot. The thing with these brushes is, is that they aren’t soft at all. They actually hurt my eyes when I’m using them.
Something strange about these brushes is that they’re all different. One of the shader brushes was quite okay, still not a brush I’d recommend, but okay, but the other two were a lot less soft and really hurt my eyes. Overall I think that these brushes are okay for those of you who are just starting off with makeup and don’t have much money to spend on it, but otherwise, go for something else.
Next up is the Makeup Revolution Ultra Face Base Foundation. I bought this because it seemed like quite a good light weight and light coverage foundation, something I didn’t really have before. And first of all I have to say this product isn’t terrible. It’s not the worst foundation I’ve ever tried, but it’s just not good and it is not one I enjoy using.
So, with that being said, onto the rant part. The thing I hate about this foundation, and many other cheap foundations, is the texture. For some reason it’s kind of sticky in a really nasty way. The stickiness makes it hard to blend, but also creates a very annoying feeling on the skin. Because of that this is a product I’d never really use.
Lastly are three lipsticks from the Essential range by E.L.F. (I know that there is quite a lot of E.L.F. shown in this post, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like E.L.F.’s makeup. I actually love that brand and most of their product, but these product just didn’t happen to be one of the good ones). I bought these three lipsticks quite a while ago, when I wasn’t that into lipsticks yet. At that point I liked them, I didn’t think they were the best, but considering the price they were great.
However, now that I’ve tried lots of expensive lipsticks, I changed my mind about these. These E.L.F. lipsticks don’t go on to the lips as easily as for example L’Oreal or MAC lipsticks would and they aren’t as comfortable. Pigmentation wise they are great, but I just don’t like the feeling of them.
And that concludes today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and let me know which budget products you think are the worst!
