Since I have a boyfriend now I do sleep away from home more often. And because I don’t want to come across as someone who packs like she’s going to live somewhere else when I’m just staying there for one night, I learned to pack as light as possible. Because I do love makeup I will never be able to take just a few things with me, but it’s way better than it used to be. If you’re interested in finding out which makeup products I take with me when I’m away from home, make sure you keep on reading!
Let’s start off with the base. For primer I usually take my Nivea Men Aftershave Balm with me. I do have a mini version of it, but I’m saving that one for my vacation to Poland, so therefore I do take this big one with me. This primer is just really amazing and makes your makeup look amazing all day!
For foundation I take my MAC Mineralize Moisture foundation with me. It’s the perfect match for me so I don’t have to worry about blending it into my neck too much.
To blend in that foundation I take my Beautyblender with me. I do realise that it’s way easier and more convenient to bring a brush with me, but my foundation just looks a million times better when blended in using the Beautyblender, so I kinda have no choice here.
When it comes to concealer I don’t hold back. Whenever I sleep over at my boyfriends place we don’t go to sleep too early so concealer is definitely a necessary step in my morning routine the next morning. The first concealer I take with me is the Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer. It’s definitely not my favourite one, but it does its job. This is great for imperfections all over my face because it’s exactly the same colour as my skintone.
Next I take my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer with me. If I want to cover up my dark circles, this is what I need. It has great coverage and because it’s a bit lighter than my skin tone it brightens up the area a little.
The last concealer I take with me is the Catrice Camouflage Cream. I use this before foundation underneath my eyes and on imperfections for that extra bit of coverage. Because it’s quite a thick cream I do prefer using it underneath my foundation, but it definitely is a good product.
To set everything and mattify my face I like using the Vichy Dermablend loose powder. This is my second tub and it’s almost empty already, which clearly shows how much I love this powder. I like it because it’s not too mattifying, but it definitely does its job.
I also really like that it has a very natural looking finish. Even if I really pack it on, you can’t tell I’m wearing half a tub of powder. I like that.
For brows I take my favourite duo ever with me: the Maybelline Brow Satin and the P2 Eyebrow Styling Gel. I think the Maybelline Brow Satin is just a fool proof product and therefore perfect for on the go. If you’re in a hurry, this is what you need, you can’t go wrong with it.
And the gel is just great to set everything in place. But it’s also great for days you’re really, really in a hurry and you don’t even have time to fill in your brows, just pop some of this in your brows and you’re good to go.
Onto eyes. First of all I need to have my beloved Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and On Bronze with me. I can’t live without that stuff. I use it to prime my eyelids and create a nice base for the eyeshadows I will put on top of it. It really intensifies the shadows on top of it and makes them last all day.
For eyeshadow I like bringing my Urban Decay Naked On The Go palette with me for two reasons. The first reason being that you have lots of products in here, not just eyeshadow. There’s also a mascara, eye pencil and lipgloss in there and even a blush and a bronzer. Super convenient. The second reason being that my boyfriend really likes the look I create with this palette.
And for mascara and eye pencil I obviously use the products that come in this palette, just because it saves a lot of space and it’s just easy to have it all in one place.
Onto blush and highlighter. For bronzer I usually use the bronzer that comes in the Naked palette, so we can skip that part here. For blush I love taking my Becca Damselfly blush with me. I do switch up the blush I take with me every now and then, but this is one of my favourites, so it’s most likely to end up in my makeup bag.
For highlighter I take the most gorgeous Becca Opal highlighter with me. This is a little travel size version which is awesome because it doesn’t take in much space at all.
Last are the lip products. I always take one neutral and one bright colour with me. When it comes to neutrals  I usually bright MAC Peach Blossom or MAC Angel. For my bright lip colour I like taking my Chanel Melodieuse lipstick with me.
And that was it. Those were all of the products I take with me in my beauty bag when I sleep somewhere away from home. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and let me know which products are your beauty bag essentials!
XOXO, Nicole.
