For years I was sure it wasn’t possible: a rich moisturising moisturiser that wasn’t greasy. But now, now I’ve definitely changed my mind about that. Today I’m going to show you guys why I changed my mind. Let me rephrase that: what made me change my mind. If you’re interested in finding out, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s just start off with the packaging, shall we? In short: I don’t like it. I don’t like the look of it. I can remember that back in the day it used to be white with a green V on it, but not it’s completely green. Usually I’m quite a fan of green, but this isn’t a green I like too much.
Okay it does have that professional skincare look to it, but it’s just not my cup of tea. On the positive note, I do really enjoy the fact that this moisturiser comes in a pump. I think it gives it a professional feel, it’s hygienic and it works really nicely. I like it!
The main reason why I love the Vichy Normaderm moisturiser has to be the scent. The Origins moisturiser I used before smelled really good too, but this is absolutely incredible. It has such a fresh and awakening scent to it. It’s truly the perfect morning moisturiser.
Another reason why I like this moisturiser is because it says it’s perfect for people with imperfections, while it’s still a very moisturising cream. That’s not something you see too often in moisturiser-world. Moisturisers for oily or imperfect skin are usually gel based, thin, light and slightly moisturising, but definitely not rich. Well, this one is.
But is the richness even a positive thing? In my opinion it has two sides. On one hand it’s really amazing. Every skin type needs moisturising, even oily skin, so it’s great that this moisturiser gives you that without making you break out or without having to sacrifice the great effects of a moisturiser for oily/acne prone skin.
On the other hand, yes, it is a bit thicker than the usual moisturiser for oily skin and yes it does make me a little bit glowier than I’d be with a different moisturiser for oily skin. But in my opinion it’s worth it. It had great benefits for my skin and I really appreciate that.
I’ve been using this moisturiser for a while now and it has brought lots of joy to my life (ok that’s a bit extreme). It is a great start of the day, it smells extremely great and it gives you the right amount of moisture, without having to sacrifice the benefits of a moisturiser for acne prone/oily skin. It makes me a tad bit more glowy than other moisturisers would, but for me it’s definitely worth it. I really enjoy using this moisturiser!
The Vichy Normaderm Moisturiser is available at Feelunique.com for €19,14.
That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and be sure to let me know which moisturiser is your current favourite!
