Vichy Normaderm 3-in-1 Exfoliator + Cleanser + Mask

21/05/2017

One of the products I bought back in Lille that I didn’t intend on buying is the Vichy Normaderm 3-in-1 Exfoliator + Cleanser + Mask. I have been a huge fan of the Vichy Normaderm range for a long time now, but this product just hadn’t caught my eye before. Anyway, I ended up buying it and after trying it thoroughly it’s time for me to review it. If you’re interested in finding out what it’s like and if it’s worth the money, make sure you continue reading!

So, let’s not waste any time on blabbering about nothing and let’s get to the point: the packaging. The product comes inside a white and green tube that feels a little rubbery. I like the looks of it. It’s not the prettiest tube I have ever seen, but it does represent the brand and the product really well and I like that about it. Aside from that I think it’s just an effective way to package a product like this so I have nothing bad to say about that.

The tube comes with 125 ml of product and that’s quite a normal amount in my opinion. It obviously depend on what you want to use it for. If it’s a mask it would be quite a lot, but as a daily cleanser I think you might go through this tube quicker than you would want to.

The Vichy Normaderm 3-in-1 is a product that, as the name already suggests, is supposed to do three things. Or it could be used as three things. It could act as a mask. In this case you can put it on your bare face, let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes and rinse it off. If you want to use it as a cleanser you can just smear it all over your face and rinse it. And if you’d want to use it as a scrub you can do the same thing as you would if you’d use it as a cleanser but spend more time on massaging it into the skin.

On the back of the tube Vichy tells us a little more about the product. For each purpose they have a different claim. When used as a mask this product is supposed to mattify and help clarify the skin. As a cleanser it’s supposed to reduce oil production and imperfections and as a scrub it’s supposed to help unclog your pores. Overall it’s supposed to get rid of all problems you might have if you struggle with oily skin. It almost sounds too good to be true.

But before I go ahead and tell you guys whether or not those claims are actually true, let’s first discuss the texture of the product because in my opinion that’s what makes this product so unique. When I first read the packaging this product reminded me a lot of the Balea 3-in-1 thingy I bought a long, long time ago. I did really like that, but the texture of it wasn’t my favourite. When I realised this product was pretty much the same thing I started to doubt whether this actually was something I would want to have.

Turns out I had no reason to be unsure about this product. It definitely is similar to the Balea product in terms of claims, but it does have a very different texture. Where the Balea one had quite a rough texture, this has a super soft and silky texture with very fine scrub particles in it. It feels really soft and smooth on the skin and it’s just not as harsh which I like a lot.

Moving on to the claims. I mostly use this product as a scrub and it does that perfectly. It’s a fine scrub but it’s very effective. It instantly makes my skin feel incredibly soft and clean like it has never felt before and I like that a lot. Like a lot lot. I really do feel like it effectively gets rid of my dead skin cells and make get my skin to look at its best. The part where it claims to unclog your pores seems to be true as well. I have been struggling a lot with clogged pores, but ever since I started using this my pores have visibly become less clogged.

Personally I hardly use it as a cleanser. When I do use it for its cleansing purposes I also use it as a scrub at the same time. Therefore it is quite hard to point out what effects are caused by the scrubbing part and what effects are related to the cleansing part. Anyway, when it comes to reducing oil production and the amount of imperfections I have to say Vichy isn’t lying. My skin has gotten a lot better lately and I do think a big part of that can be traced back to this product.

On a rare occasion I do like to use this as a mask. When I did it for the first time I was surprised by how quick it actually dried down. It took less than 5 minutes. After those 5 minutes when I could barely move my face I decided to wash it off and I was very, very surprised by the result. My skin looked incredibly smooth and soft and all excess oil was gone. My skin was the perfect matte and flawless base for the makeup I was about to apply on top of it. I loved it!

Overall this product is pretty impressive. I like that you can use it for three different things but what I like even more is that it’s actually very effective. It does exactly what it claims to do and more. It makes my skin feel so incredibly soft and smooth, it unclogs my pores, it reduced oil production and imperfections and it mattifies the skin. I love this stuff!

And that pretty much concludes today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know what you think of this product and also let me know what products you use to cleanse and scrub your skin with!

XOXO, Nicole.
