About three or four years ago I started caring more and more about skincare. I became more and more interested in using products that were good for my skin and products that would make the quality of my skin better. I actually created an entire routine for taking care of my skin. Recently I’ve been changing up that routine and it’s almost completely different. Today I’m going to show you what’s different and what my current routine looks like. If you’re interested in finding out, make sure you continue reading!
Okay, we’re going to get through this from night to morning. The first product I use at night is this The Body Shop Aloe Calming Cream Cleanser. A review about this and two other products from this range is coming up soon, so stay tuned for that. I use this cleanser before I hop into the shower to get rid of my eye makeup.
I do this because this way I don’t have to rub my eyes as hard with face wash underneath the shower and because it’s just a way better way to remove eye makeup. It’s a very mild and calming product so it’s great for the area around you eyes.
Once I hop into the shower I start with cleansing my skin using the, nearly empty, Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel. I’ve been using this for quite a while now and it’s great for combination to oily skin. It prevents breakouts and it keeps your skin nice and clear. Aside from that it’s just and incredible makeup remover that gets rid of nearly everything.
After washing my skin with that I wash it one more time using the Nivea Softening Cleansing Mousse. I’ve been using the blue version of it for years but recently I’ve given the pink one a try and I love that one as well. I use this to get rid of the left overs that the Vichy gel couldn’t remove to make sure my skin is completely clean.
Most days I also use a bit of my Nivea scrubby gel that’s perfect for exfoliating your skin on a daily basis, but some days I skip that part, mainly out of laziness.
The next two steps are very new in my routine but also very essential. When I get out of the shower I like to cleanse my skin one more time using the TBS Aloe Calming Toner. I use the products from this range because my skin has been pretty irritated lately and this really helps calming it down. It also gets rid of any left overs that the shower products didn’t remove and of any other dirt that might be left on my skin.
To finish off my night skincare routine I apply the TBS Aloe Soothing Day Cream to my face. I know that it says it’s a day cream but because I have quite oily skin and because it’s quite a heavy cream I like to use it at night. It hydrates my skin and also helps to calm it down and best of all it makes my skin look really pretty when I wake up.
So, onto the morning part of my skincare routine. This part is way shorter than the night part, but just as important. I always start my day off by using a bit of Bioderma. I put this all over my face to get rid of any access oil and to get my skin ready for makeup. I have to admit that there are days when I skin this step, usually when I’m with my boyfriend because I’m too lazy and because my skin just isn’t as oily when I’m there, but pretty much every day I’m not there I do use this.
I do like to switch up using Bioderma by using one of my Lush toner waters, but most days it’s just Bioderma, which is why I decided to show you guys that.
After cleansing my skin I go in with another TBS product. This time I’m using the Seaweed Oil-Control Gel Cream. This is very light weight and it sinks into the skin super quickly. It’s mattifying and it controls the oil production on my skin in order to keep my skin looking good all day. I really enjoy using this product!
The last product I use in the morning before I go in with any makeup is the TBS Elderflower Unperfumed Eye Gel. I don’t really know why I like to use an eye cream or gel, but it’s just part of my routine and it has been part of my routine for that long I just continue doing it.
And that concludes my updated skincare routine. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and let me know which products are essential is your skincare routine!
