For some reason I thought it wasn’t that long ago since I last wrote about my makeup routine, but after looking through my posts I found out it actually has been quite a while since I last did that. So for today I thought it might be fun to show you guys which products I use on a daily basis and how I like to use them. If you’re interested in finding out, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s start off with primer. I used to use the Nivea Men Aftershave Balm all the time back when I did my last makeup routine. Nowadays I do still use that, but I do use another primer as well. I first apply the Nivea balm all over my skin and let that sink in for a few seconds.
After that I like to go in with another primer that has a more pore minimising effect. Currently I really enjoy using the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer, but there are lots of other primers in my collection that work just as great. I apply the primer all over my face but focussing on my T-zone and especially the nose area.
After that has sunk into my skin, I’ll go in with my foundation. As you guys probably know I’m currently obsessed with the Dior Star Flawless Foundation. I apply two to three pumps to my face and blend everything in using my Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki brush.
After I’ve blended everything in I’ll go ahead and wet my Beautyblender and use that to blend in the foundation even better. For some reason this is the best way to apply this foundation. A brush on its own can be too streaky and just the Beautyblender just isn’t pretty. The combination of the two is perfect. This will create a very natural but flawless effect.
After foundation I move onto concealer. First I start off with applying a corrective concealer. I either use the cream version or the liquid version and apply this to the darkest areas underneath my eyes. I blend that in with either my finger or the Beautyblender and after that I’ll apply a skintone concealer to even out the colour and brighten up the area even more.
Once the concealer is blended in, I’ll move on to powder. Most days I like using the Vichy Dermablend Finishing Powder, but pretty much every translucent powder will do. I apply this using a big fluffy brush and I apply a little bit more underneath my eyes with a small sponge in order to really set that area and prevent my concealer from creasing.
Once the face is done I’ll move onto brows. My current favourite brow product is definitely the Benefit Goof-Proof Brow Pencil. This is a super easy product to work with and it creates the perfect eyebrow look within seconds. It’s just so easy and fool-proof that even if you’re applying it while you’re asleep it will look pretty.
To set the brow look I’d usually go in with a brow gel. My current favourite is this one by Inglot. It’s tinted and will set the brows as well as add a little more definition and colour. I think it’s really pretty!
Once the brows are done it’s time to move on to the eyes. I do alter the look I create almost daily, but the one thing I use every single day is the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in the shade On and On Bronze. I always use this as a primer to extend the wearing time of my eyeshadows as well as to intensify the colours I’ll apply on top.
For eyeshadow I usually go for something pretty natural. My favourite palette is the Stila Eyes Are The Window Palette in Soul/Spirit, but I also really enjoy using one of the trusty old Naked palettes or one of my Tarte palette. It really depends on my mood and the occasion what I will end up using.
To finish off the eye look I like to apply a little mascara and sometimes even a bit of eye pencil. My current favourite and therefore most used mascara is the Lancome Grandiose Mascara and my favourite eye pencil is the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in the shade Stag.
So when that’s all done it’s time for the finishing touches: blush, bronzer, highlighter and lipstick. For bronzer I always use either the Inglot Sculpting Powder or the Benefit Hoola Bronzer. Sometimes I even use both.
For blush I usually aim for my Dior Splendor blush since it’s such a versatile shade that goes with pretty much every look and it’s just so easy to work with. The days I decide to go for something else I usually end up going for my Becca blush in the shade Damselfly. This one is absolutely stunning as well and just as perfect for everyday as Dior is.
Then for highlighter I have two options. Well I do have like 20 other options, but I usually go for one of these two: either the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Bronze or the Becca highlighter in Opal. Both are absolutely stunning and I really enjoy using them.
Than to top everything off I apply a lipstick. I usually go for something nude and wearable or I go for L’Oreal Dating Coral. The nude options I usually go for are either YSL Beige Blouse or MAC Peach Blossom. Not very surprising perhaps, but it’s just the way it is.
And that’s everything. That’s everything I use on my face on a daily basis (if you want to see what it looks like on my face, you might want to check out my instagram!). I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and be sure to let me know what you use on your face everyday!
XOXO, Nicole.
