I already did a favourites of December post but that wasn’t it for the favourites posts this month. Since it’s the end of the year I thought it’d be fun to do a sort of overview of the year looking back at all the products that I’ve tried and showing you guys which ended up being my ultimate favourites of twenty sixteen! If you’re curious to find out, make sure you continue reading!
In the category base one product really stood out: the Dior Star .. foundation. I bought it back in October and I’ve been in love with it ever since. It’s one of the best foundations I’ve tried in my entire life and I’m just so grateful I found it and got a chance to try it.
Another base product that has made my 2016 a little better is the Lancome Long Lasting Softening Concealer. I believe I got that somewhere at the beginning of 2016, but I’m not completely sure about that. In my opinion this is the best concealer ever made and I can’t go without it anymore. I use it almost every single day and I’m pretty sure I’ll continue doing so all throughout 2017.
Onto the cheek category. First of all we have the amazing Hoola Bronzer by Benefit. I bought this back in Poland and I’ve used it everyday since. I don’t know why I discovered it only now, but I’m glad I did because it’s by far the best bronzer ever made. It’s the perfect product to sculpt your cheeks with, make you look a little more tanned. It’s the best!
For blush it was a little harder. I have tried quite a lot of incredible blushes throughout the year, but if I had to choose one I guess I’ll have to go for my Dior Splendor blush. I haven’t had it for that long but it just changed my blush game. The texture of this product is incredible and the colour makes my cheeks look so bomb. I love, love, love it!
And lastly for highlighter we have quite an obvious one. I’ve had this for ages already but I still love it to this day. It’s the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal. It’s only a little mini size but that doesn’t make it less amazing. It’s the prettiest, glowiest highlighter I own and every time I wear it I get complimented on it.
Eyes & Brows
The next category we’re going to tackle is eyes and brows. Let’s start off with brows since I always do my brows before I do my eyes. My ultimate favourite brow product has to be the Benefit Goof-Proof Brow Pencil in combination with the Inglot Brow Gel. Both of them I bought back in August (in Poland) and there hasn’t been a day I didn’t use this ever since then. These two products are the most amazing things in the world and they always manage to make my brows look perfect.
Because I’m obsessed with eyeshadow it’s nearly impossible for me to come up with one favourite. I have bought an incredibly big amount of eyeshadows throughout the year and pretty much all of them have become my favourites. If I had to choose one I think I’d go for the gorgeous Tarte Tartelette In Bloom palette. I bought this at the beginning of the year and I still love and use it a ton so I guess that does mean a lot!
The last favourite in this category has to be the most amazing mascara of this year: the Lancome Grandiose mascara. It was hard choosing between the Lancome mascara and my beloved Benefit mascara, but in the end I guess I love the Lancome Grandiose a little bit more. It just makes my lashes look so luscious and gorgeous. It’s the best!
The last category we’re tackeling is lips. At the beginning of 2016 I was all about lipstick. I bought a ton of them and I wore them a lot. Towards the end I still loved lipstick and occasionally bought some, but it just wasn’t like the beginning of the year. Anyway: I have to ultimate favourite lipsticks so here we go.
The first one is by MAC. It’s in the shade Peach Blossom and it’s the most perfect nude colour ever. Like literally ever. I actually bought it at the end of 2015 (around November), but I’ve worn it a ton throughout 2016 so I think it’s still okay to show it in this post.
The other favourite is by YSL. I bought this around my birthday this year so I haven’t had it for that long, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be a favourite. It’s the YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in the shade Beige Blouse and it is stunning. It’s another great nude shade that looks stunning with everything and has the most gorgeous texture and finish ever. It’s the best!
And that concludes today’s post! I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which products are your ultimate favourites of 2016!
