Trying Out Some New Cheeks With The Nars Blush Torrid

29/09/2018

I feel like Nars is most famous for their blushes. The Orgasm blush in particular. So far I have tried a couple of their blushes, but not all that much. And a while ago I decided I needed to change that. I hadn’t bought makeup in a very long time and I was excited to play with some new stuff again. I decided to order the Nars Blush in the shade Torrid and I’ve been using it for a good month so far. I’ve brought it with me on vacation, I’ve worn it almost every single day and all of that resulted in the fact that it’s about time for me to review this little guy. So, if you’re interested in finding out more about this blush and reading about my experience with it, make sure you continue reading this post!

Like all other Nars products the packaging of this Nars blush is just stunning. I’m personally a huge fan of very classy, simplistic but professional looking packagings and Nars completely understands that idea. The packaging is nice and compact but it does look very stylish. It is made out of black rubberised plastic which makes it feel amazing, and the only decoration on the packaging is the name of the brand written on the front in a very pretty minimalistic font. I adore it!

Another thing I really like about the packaging is the fact that there is a little mirror on the inside of the compact. This is a rather small mirror since the compact is pretty small, but I do like it and I definitely use it. It makes it a great travel-proof product in my opinion.

Overall I think that this Nars Blush packaging is a big winner. It’s decently sized, it comes with enough product and the packaging isn’t incredibly bulky. In addition to that the design of the packaging is very sleek and professional looking and therefore right up my alley. I really love it!

Nars Blush in Torrid (full size) – €32

In my opinion the hardest thing -when it comes to buying a blush- is deciding what shade you’re going to get. Nars has an excessive amount of shades in their blush collection that keeps expanding. We know the most popular shades like Orgasm, Deep Throat and all those fun shades, but I wanted something more unique. Something I wouldn’t find at another brand. I also wanted something that would add a fresh look to my complexion. Something a tad bit peachy, but not completely orange. After looking up a million swatches and changing my mind about it six times I ended up going for the shade Torrid. It isn’t a shade I had read a lot about, but looking at the swatches it seemed like it was going to be exactly what I was looking for.

And luckily for me it turned out to be exactly that. When I do decide to spend a little more on a blush one thing that is very important to me is the fact that the colour is unique and it’s not like something I already have. This shade meets all of those requirements.

Torrid is a really pretty peachy pink colour with a light golden sheen to it. You might also describe it as more of a coral colour. All in all it’s a mixture of pink and peach and this creates a really pretty fresh looking colour. Thanks to the slight golden sheen in the powder it also is a bit brightening which helps to increase the fresh look the product and the effect it has on the skin. Overall I think it’s a really amazing, well thought out shade. And I think it’s going to create a great look for my everyday makeup look.

Moving on to the claims Nars has made regarding this product. They say that their Cosmetics Blush has a silky, award-winning formula that is infused with transparent pigments. It should deliver a natural-looking flush to complement all skin tones. The micronised powder formula is supposed to effortlessly sweep over skin, blending seamlessly for a subtle and natural look. They say you can expect an enviable flush in an instant.

In general I do agree with the things Nars is claiming right here. I do think that they don’t promise us a lot, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I like it when they keep it short because more often than not that means that the things that they do say, are true. And that’s very important to me.

The first thing that I really like about this product is that texture they were talking about. The thing with it is that it really has that incredible smooth formula that you only find in Nars blushes. Somehow they managed to find an incredible balance between creaminess and smoothness. It’s like a creamy satin-like feeling blush. It’s really weird and almost impossible to describe, but I feel like what I just said is the best I can do to describe it. It’s just really luxurious and nice. And that does have an effect on the results on the skin.

The texture makes it go on really smooth. It makes it glide onto the skin in a very even way. You can already see that it does on the swatch, but when you apply it with a brush it will look even smoother. It’s not blotchy at all and you don’t have to be careful with it. I do think that the blush has quite a bit of pigment, which I usually don’t really love about a blush. I prefer building it up rather than having to tame it down. However, if you don’t like wiggle your brush into the product too much, this amount of pigment is still okay. You don’t have to actively be careful of not becoming a clown.

I also think that it blends in really nicely with the rest of my makeup. It will end up looking really natural and you don’t have to work for it. That’s exactly what I like about it. How effortlessly it goes on and blends in.

In terms of staying power I always find it hard to tell whether a blush is good or not. I don’t like to apply a lot of blush, so sometimes it’s difficult to tell whether it’s the blush I’m looking at or just natural redness from the day. However, comparing this to some of my other blushes, I definitely feel like it lasts. One day I did accidentally apply a bit too much of it and that day I could see it all day long.

All in all I’m really happy I decided to buy this blush. I was already familiar with the Nars blushes but I’m always happy to grow my collection. From the packaging to the product itself. Everything about it is just exceptional. I love how the texture feels and how effortlessly it goes on to the cheeks. In addition to that I think this is the most flattering blush shade I own and I definitely think it will look amazing on lots of different skin tones. So if you are on the hunt for a new blush and you are willing to splurge a little bit, give this blush a try!

And that will be it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and be sure to let me know what your opinion is on Nars blushes and which shade you love the most!
