Back in the day when I just started getting into makeup, MAC was a brand I really adored. At that time it was way too expensive for me so I didn’t have much from it, but all I ever dreamt of was having all of their makeup. Nowadays MAC isn’t my favourite high-end brand anymore, but I do still like their products and I’ve definitely grown my MAC collection since then, big time. But because MAC was my favourite brand back then and because I could only afford a few of their products at the time, it seemed like a fun idea to me to share my three favourite MAC products to give you an idea of what you could buy from MAC if you’re trying to grow your MAC collection yourself. So, if you’re interested in finding out which three MAC products I recommend trying, make sure you continue reading!
My favourite MAC products are by far their eyeshadow quads. This might come as a bit of a shocker since I’ve always said that I wasn’t that big of a fan of MAC eyeshadows. But at the end of the day, these quads are what I use a lot of the time. You just get four colours in one little palette, which is very convenient, that look really good together and are perfect for creating an entire eye look. I do think that some of their quads are better than the others, but if you don’t like any of them you can also create a quad yourself by buying four single pans of shadow and a palette.
My favourite quads are those from the MAC x Mariah Carey collection from last year, but it doesn’t really matter what collection it is from, it’s about the shadows that are in there. They are high quality, nice to work with and I think that MAC has a great shade selection when it comes to eyeshadow.
Mineralized Skin Finishes
One of MAC’s most special products is the Mineralized Skin Finish. The highlighter ones at that. I have to admit that highlighter in general isn’t my favourite product in the world, however, these MSF’s from MAC are just to die for. But that’s not the main reason why I’m telling you guys you need to try these. The main reason why I’m including them in this post is because I think these are MAC’s most special products. It’s a type of product that you can’t really find elsewhere. A product that is special enough to spend big money on and that’s what makes it worth it for me.
Within the MSF range are different types of MSF’s. The normal ones like Soft And Gentle, but they now also have the Extra Dimension ones which are stunning as well. I personally think that the regular kind is more unique in texture and whatnot, but the Extra Dimension ones are absolutely stunning as well. Oh, by the way, I would also recommend looking out for limited edition collections when it comes to MSF’s because the LE versions are always prettier!
I didn’t think I would ever include this in a MAC three to try, but I’m doing it right now. I never really expected that MAC mascara’s were going to be special enough to splurge on, but after trying the MAC Pro Beyond Twisted Lash mascara I’m sold. At first I didn’t really know what to think of that mascara, it wasn’t a big shocker. But now that I have it for quite a while and now that I’ve been using it for ages as well, I’ve grown to love it. It’s just the perfect everyday mascara that is smudge-proof, incredibly easy to apply and stays put all day.
Not too long ago I’ve also discovered the MAC In Extreme Dimension Mascara which I ended up really liking as well. So even though I’ve heard a lot of people say that MAC mascara’s really aren’t that special, I do think they are and I’d definitely recommend splurging on those rather than on MAC lipsticks
Talking about lipsticks, I know that MAC lipsticks are incredibly popular. And yes, they are nice and they have a very, very wide variety of shades in their collection. However, I don’t think that MAC lipsticks are that special. I personally like the formula of other high-end lipsticks better like the Urban Decay lipsticks or the Dior/Chanel lipsticks, so that’s why I didn’t include lipstick in this post.
Anyway, that’s it for my three to try post from MAC. I hope you enjoyed reading it, I hope it was helpful to you in any way and be sure to let me know which MAC products you think everyone should try!
