The past couple of years I’ve started getting more and more into skincare. While back in the day I couldn’t care much about what I put on my face before applying my makeup, nowadays I’m really careful with what I use. Especially when it comes to moisturiser I have tried a lot in the last couple of years. Some products ended up working really well for me and some ended up being terrible. Today I’m going to show you my current top 5 favourite moisturisers. So, if you’re on the hunt for an amazing new moisturiser but don’t really know what’s good and what isn’t, make sure you continue reading!
I’m not going to do this post in any specific order, but I will start with my number one favourite product, the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel. I think I’ve mentioned this product about a million times by now and I’m pretty sure this won’t be the last time I’m going to mention it. Ever since this Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel came into my life, my skincare game has changed. It’s, as lots of you probably know, a very popular and famous moisturiser and therefore there are a lot of positive reviews to be found about it. And when it comes to cult products like that I prefer taking the negative reviews a little more seriously than the ones where people are raving about the product, but in this case I think it’s just all positivity.
This moisturiser first of all has the most amazing texture, especially for those who struggle with combination to oily skin. It’s very lightweight and it sinks into the skin very quickly. It doesn’t feel heavy or greasy at all, but it does have all the moisturising and hydrating benefits you need from a moisturiser.
The most amazing thing about this moisturiser is the way it makes my skin feel. I still don’t know what it is about it, but it makes my skin feel incredibly smooth. Like really, really smooth. I don’t know how it does it, but it’s a whole new feeling I have never had with any other moisturiser in my entire skincare-using life. I just love this stuff to pieces and I’m sure (most of) you will love it too!
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel With Pump 125 ml – €54,50
Next up is a more recent favourite, but still not a very new one for me. I’ve been using this one for a little over half a year now, and it has quickly become a huge favourite. I’m talking about the La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Light Moisturiser. This is the light version of the original one and therefore perfect for those who struggle with more greasy skin types. IÂ personally have more of a combination kind of skin and this works amazingly for me.
Just like the Clinique moisturiser this one has a very lightweight and comfortable formula. Where the Clinique one seems to be a bit more gel-like, this one is a bit more on the creamy side of the spectrum. It does an amazing job at moisturising my skin and prepping it for the rest of my makeup. It doesn’t make my skin feel or look greasy in any way and it doesn’t make my break out at all. I really am impressed by how well this product works.
My favourite thing about this moisturiser, however, isn’t just the product itself. It’s the packaging. I love how compact it is and especially I love the pump. It just looks so pretty and professional and it’s obviously very hygienic. Overall, I think this is a great product and I highly recommend giving it a try if you have normal, combination or oily skin!
La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Light – €20,25
Moving on to another old favourite, the Vichy Normaderm Moisturiser. I’ve been using this for ages, along with a product I’m going to show you in a second. I believe this actually was one of my first proper moisturisers back in the day. Now that I’m thinking about it, I first started using this when I was 13. I’m 20 now! My lord.
Anyway, we’re getting off topic. Let’s talk about the product again. This is a bit of a thicker moisturiser than the two I showed you before, but it still is absolutely amazing for combination to oily skin. This is a moisturiser specifically designed for people who struggle with acne or blemishes in general. It does an amazing job at fighting and preventing them, without drying your skin. In addition to that it has a really nice scent to it.
Something else I love about this moisturiser is the fact that it’s very hydrating. Most products created for oily skin or blemished skin are very lightweight, barely put any moisture into your skin and more often than not, they are a bit on the drying side of the spectrum. This product is the complete opposite of that. It’s very hydrating and rich and I absolutely love the way that feels on my skin. It’s also one of the reasons why I always gravitate towards it during the colder months of the year when your skin does need that extra bit of moisture. Even if you are already oily.
Overall I think this is a great all round product that has more hydration to it that most moisturisers I’ve seen in this category. The greatest thing of all is that, even though it’s very hydrating, it still doesn’t make my skin look or feel greasy and it still has a very comfortable formula.
Vichy Normaderm Correcting Anti-Blemish Care – €17,95
Moving on to the fourth product I will be talking about in today’s post, the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ Moisturiser. This was my first moisturiser, along with the one by Vichy I just talked about. A pharmacist recommended it to me back when I struggled a lot with oily and blemished skin and well, I think she did a great job at that. It worked wonders for me. It really helped to control the oil on my skin and to prevent me from breaking out all of the time. I also think that it has a really nice scent to it, which is always a plus in my book (even though I know perfume is terrible for your skin).
But what I like even more about it, is the texture. All moisturisers shown until now are quite lightweight, but this one definitely wins that battle. You can barely feel this on your skin, however, it still adds the same amount of moisture to my skin as the somewhat heavier ones do. I don’t know how it does it, but it feels amazing. Especially when you have very oily skin and the feeling of hydration feels a little cringy for you. This product will still give you that hydration, without feeling like it.
Overall I think this is a great product for when you have young, blemished or very oily skin. I still use and love it now that my skin isn’t as oily as it used to be, but I do prefer my Clinique moisturiser for now.
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ Moisturiser – €14,95
The last moisturiser I want to talk to you guys about today is completely different from all the moisturisers I have already talked about. This is the famous Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré. This has been a very popular product in the beauty community for ages and I totally understand why.
Unlike most moisturisers I love, this one has a pretty thick and rich consistency. It still is very comfortable to wear and it doesn’t make me feel incredibly greasy, but because this is a heavier product I do prefer to use it at night. If you do have dry skin it might be a great product to use in the morning, but for the oily skinned girls out there that might just be too much.
It also ins’t a product I use on a daily basis because it’s too heavy for that. However, it is absolutely incredible. Every time I put this on before I go to bed, I wake up with the most incredible feeling smooth skin. It’s like the effect of the Clinique moisturiser but than less temporary and it’s not the product that feels smooth but your actual skin. Thanks to this my makeup applies so much more smooth and my skin looks so much more clean and even. I really love this effect and I haven’t seen or used anything that has a similar effect as this product. It’s just mind-blowing!
Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré 75 ml – €19,95
And that was pretty much it for my top 5 favourite moisturisers post. As you can tell I have quite a lot of favourites when it comes to moisturiser and to be completely real with you guys, I do have a couple other products that I love as well. However, these are the creme de la creme of my moisturiser collection and all five products are products I do honestly, genuinely love and recommend to you guys. So, if you’re on the hunt for some new skincare action, make sure you try these out!
Thank you so, so much for reading today’s post and be sure to let me know which moisturisers are your top favourites of all time!
Die van Clinique lijkt mij wel erg fijn! Ik ben zelf gek op de Moisture Surge van Clinique, vind dat een heel fijn product.
Ja die heb ik ook! Dat is ook echt een heerlijke creme!
