Advent calendars have become a pretty huge deal throughout the last couple of years. Back in the day I only knew about the existence of chocolate advent calendars. But these days there are so many different versions out there. I’ve seen many people unbox and review lots of different calendars. I’m pretty sure that this year I’m going to stick with a chocolate one, but I still found it a good idea to share some advent calendars with you guys that I think are the prettiest and most worth it. So, if you are on the hunt for an advent calendar, make sure you continue reading!
Rituals The Ritual Of Advent – €59,50
The first advent calendar I want to talk about is the one from Rituals. They actually have two, but I’m the biggest fan of the most affordable version. The reason behind that is that the more expensive version comes with 90% of the same products/sizes and just 3 or 4 more luxurious items. I don’t think that’s worth it. However, the most affordable version is really amazing. It’s one of the more affordable calendars I could find that doesn’t come with a lot of junk. I just hate it when calendars like this are full of nail files, shower puffs and all that kind of junk. Ain’t nobody buying a calendar for that! I want proper products.
This calendar is full or really nice mini’s and a couple of full sizes from the Rituals brand. In my opinion pretty much everything from Rituals smells incredible, so I think I would get a lot of use out of the products inside this calendar. I also like that all products are things I would use. Like, I’m not going ham for a shampoo or a face oil, but I do dig shower foams and body lotions. This calendar understands me so well, so therefore I think this one is one of the best this year!
L’Occitane Classic Advent Calendar – €49
Next up is L’Occitane. Throughout the years they have done some amazingly stunning advent calendars. This year they did it again. They have three different options. You can buy the most affordable version, there’s a more expensive version and a personalised version. The personalised one sounds pretty interesting to me. If you go for this option you can select what you want to be in the calendar yourself. I think that’s really amazing because this way you only get products you actually want. The only downside to this option is that the choice is rather limited, so you probably will have to choose a couple of things you’re not crazy about. This option will cost you 75 Euro’s which I think is a bit on the expensive side considering you almost exclusively get mini’s.
The more affordable calendar is again my favourite when it comes to the L’Occitane calendars. You get 24 products, non of which are junk, and you pay a decent price for it. It does come with a lot of little soaps and hand creams so that is something you need to like. Otherwise this calendar could be a bit of a dud. In my opinion it’s a pretty cool calendar, but in the end I think I still prefer the Rituals one.
Clinique 24 Days Of Christmas – €69
Next up is the Clinique advent calendar. This one did interest me quite a bit. It actually did in a way that I almost ended up buying it. This calendar has a really good product/price ratio. It comes with a decent amount of full sizes and a nice variety of product types. Since it is Clinique you will be getting lots of skincare products, but it also comes with a couple of makeup items.
The best thing about this calendar to me is that you get a full size lipstick in a stunning colour. But you also get a full size blush brush. I really like getting brushes, but more often than not the brushes you receive in such calendars are kinda crap. They are the brushes no one wants to buy anyway or just really crappy, travel size quality. However, this is just a very proper high-quality brush they also sell separately. I’m really impressed by that and I think that the value of this calendar is pretty up there. I still really want to buy this one, it’s so stunning!
Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Beauty Universe – €185
The last advent calendar I want to talk about is a very luxurious and expensive one. I would never pay that amount of money for an advent calendar myself, but a girl can only dream. Charlotte Tilbury is a very prestegious and luxurious brand. Most of their products are like 30 Euro’s and up so it’s no wonder that this calendar is so expensive. It comes with just 12 products instead of 24 which is a bit of a shame, but I get it. If it would’ve come with 24 products it would either be way more expensive or it would come with a lot of crap.
Considering the price of this calendar I did expect it to come with several full sized products. It actually comes with 4 full sizes which doesn’t seem like a lot, but I do think it’s pretty decent. The total price of the four full sizes bought outside of this calendar together would be €115. The other mini’s are all very decently sized, so overall I’m pretty okay with the product/price ratio. I also like that the full size products they did put in here are very popular products and shades. They even put their famous Pillow Talk lipstick in here. And that’s not something you see a lot in these calendars. More often than not they give you a shade no one really wants. Because Charlotte doesn’t do that, I’m pretty impressed by this calendar.
All in all I think there are quite a lot of pretty amazing advent calendars out there this year. I’m personally not sure whether or not I should buy one, but if I end up doing so I’m pretty sure I’d go for one of these. Especially the one from Rituals and the Clinique Advent Calendar really speak to me.
Anyway, I think it’s time to end today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading about these advent calendars, and be sure to let me know that if you buy an advent calendar this year, which one would it be?
