The Original Beautyblender Bubble Micro Mini

24/12/2018

For the longest time I used to think that these Micro Mini Beautyblenders were just another way to make more money. I did not believe in them at all. That’s why it took me so long to finally give it a try. When I saw them on sale for just €6 I decided to finally give them a go and see if they are as terrible as I used to think they were. I have been trying them ever since I received them and today I’m coming at you guys with my review. And let me tell you, I’ve been surprised by these two tiny little eggs. So, if you want to know how I ended up liking these Beautyblender Bubble Micro Mini sponges, make sure you continue reading this post!

Okay, the Beautyblender Micro Mini. What’s up with them. Well, let’s start off by saying that they come in two instead of one. The little round plastic container in which every Beautyblender comes is the same with these mini ones. But the main difference is that in this one you get two little sponges. That’s not really strange considering the fact that there aren’t even a fourth of the size of the regular sponge, but it’s worth mentioning.

Something I like about the packaging with the regular Beautyblenders is that you can use it as a little standard to hold your Beautyblender when you’re not using it. This way it won’t be closed off and therefore it won’t get moldy as quickly. This blender is way too small to do that. It does come with this little plastic thingy inside that keeps both sponges in place while they’re in the packaging. I’ve been using this as a holder for my Beautyblender Micro Mini and it hasn’t been a huge succes. The blender is way too heavy when it’s wet in order for the plastic thingy to keep it upwards. But at least it’s sitting on something, so that’s that.

Beautyblender Bubble Micro Mini – €14,40

Having discussed the packaging and all that kind of fun stuff, let’s start talking about the blender itself. As you can tell it’s actually really small. It’s even smaller in person than I initially expected. Because of its small size it’s super great at reaching those hard-to-reach areas of your face like the area around your nose but also the eye-area. I do actually feel like when using this blender those areas look more well-blended than they used to back when I just used my big Beautyblender for everything.

I also really like the effect of this Micro Mini Beautyblender when it comes to blending concealer underneath my eyes. I honestly didn’t really expect it to make any difference at all, but in fact it does. Because it’s smaller it’s way more concentrated and it doesn’t disperse the product as far as a regular sized Beautyblender does. Therefore I feel like I end up with way more pigmentation underneath my eyes. My concealers are maximised and I feel like my dark circles are covered much better.

One thing I do think is important to keep in mind is how wet you get your blender. I want mine to be wet, but not soaked in a way that it will add water to my concealer. This is very hard to do right. The trick I use to cope with that issue is that I like to apply something else with it first, like my corrector underneath the eyes or another area that I want to conceal but that needs less coverage than my eye area.

But the size isn’t the only thing that sets these Micro Mini Beautyblenders apart from the regular one. These are actually the ‘Bubble’ versions. There’s also a big bubble one, but I haven’t tried that so far. Anyway, the Beautyblender Bubble has a different technology that makes sure the sponge doesn’t soak up as much product. This soaking up product thing is always the issue with Beautyblenders so I really appreciate that they took the time to find a solution for that.

Of course it is difficult for me to pinpoint whether or not this claim is true. Obviously I have used non-Bubble Beautyblenders, but all of them were big and I haven’t used a big Bubble blender. Therefore these findings may not be very valid, but well, I’m going to share them anyway. I feel like I already notice the soaking up thingy when it comes to making it wet. This thing needs just a little bit of water to get to that wet and bouncy state that you want it to be in. I also feel like when I apply concealer with it, all the concealer stays on my face. The blender does stain a little, of course, but I don’t feel like it really soaks up much of the product. It just disperses it and blends it into the skin.

Like I said these difference might be caused by the size of the Beautyblender Micro Mini, but to be honest I do think that it makes a mistake. I did recently purchase a big Bubble Beautyblender so if I notice differences when I use that one I’ll get back to you and let you guys know the final verdict.

All in all I am very surprised by these Beautyblender Micro Mini Bubble sponges. I used to think that they were such a useless item but they actually helped improve my beauty routine quite a bit. They make my concealer more pigmented and make sure that the blending is even more seamless than it already was. I’m really intrigued by these sponges and I’m glad that I finally decided to give them a chance. It’s not a product you’d die without, but I honestly wouldn’t want to go without them anymore either!

With that being said I think it’s time to end today’s post. Thank you so much for reading and be sure to let me know what you think of these mini Beautyblenders!
