Being the beautyblogger that I am, I like to try out new products on a regular basis. Since I’m not that big I buy pretty much everything myself but I do think that’s part of the fun. Anyway, recently I’ve been buying quite a lot of new products that I wanted to try out. Since I’ve done a really huge haul recently I didn’t feel the need to do another one on these items. I thought it might make me look a little insane. Anyway, because that wasn’t an option I did think it might be fun to show to you guys what I’m trialling right now. I’m letting you know what products I’m currently testing and therefore giving you a sneak peek of what you can expect on my blog in the near future. So, if you want to find out what’s coming up pretty soon, make sure you continue reading this post!
Let’s start off with the first product. The first thing that is on trial at this very moment is the famous Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in Translucent. I’ve heard so many people rave about this powder throughout the years. At first I wasn’t really intrigued by all that, but when my RCMA No-Colour Powder was nearing its end I decided this was the right time to try something new. And that something new is the cult favourite Laura Mercier powder.
I have to say that I went in with pretty much no expectations. I knew that is was very hyped and I’m not usually a big fan of those super hyped-up products. Because the hype is so big it always feels like a bit of a disappointment when it turns out to be great but not a miracle. But because it’s a powder and because it’s Laura Mercier I did have hope that it would actually be great, which is why I wanted to try it. So far I am liking it, but I have to try it a little longer to give you guys the real verdict. So keep an eye out for that!
The next item that’s currently on trial is the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Palette. Recently I went shopping in Amsterdam with one of my best friends and she bought this amazing bronzer and highlighter palette from Charlotte Tilbury. It’s a very well-loved product in the beauty community but until then I didn’t really think about buying it. However, when the sales lady put the product on her face I was blown away. It looked so incredibly pretty and so natural. She bought it and I didn’t. But I immediately regretted that.
Not much later I ended up purchasing it myself as well. I went on Feelunique and let it ship to my home. I’ve been using it ever since. Of course I do have pretty high expectations about this guy because it looked so pretty on my friend and she is loving it. Just like the powder I will have to try it out a little longer but it won’t be long until you see it shine on my blog!
Then we have a foundation that has been on try-out lately, that I never thought I’d ever try. It’s the Yves Saint Laurent Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation. The cushion foundation hype has been gone for a while now but about a year ago it was all the range. All of a sudden everyone was all about cushion foundations and all brands had one. I didn’t really get the hype behind it so I didn’t really think of buying one of them ever.
Until I watched a Youtube video from Gabriella in which she did a full face using her most expensive products. The foundation she used was the YSL Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation and I fell in love with it. It made her skin look so flippin’ incredible. I just couldn’t not try it myself. In the past I did fall in love with another YSL foundation, which made me think I was going to love this one as well.
Then we have a bit of a, what seems, rather boring product. However, I am really excited about it myself. It’s the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in the shade Demolition. I’ve been a huge fan of the Urban Decay Glide On pencils for a while now. I believe it was like 2 or 3 years ago when I first bought a set of these pencils. I immediately fell in love with them. They are literally the best eye pencils in the world. Yes they do cost a little more and cheaper alternatives are nice as well, however these are more special. They stay in place incredibly well, even on watery eyes.
Therefore I wanted to expand my collection. Another reason why I wanted to try a new one is because the ones I already have are all shimmery and I wanted to see what the matte ones were like. Since I do like to keep things natural I decided to go for a brown shade. It ended up being the shade Demolition. I’ve been using it for quite some time now, so whenever I get the time I will write a review about it.
Then we have something I’m really flipping excited about. The Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation. I have seen a lot of mixed reviews on this foundation and at first it actually made me want to skip it. As a Dior fan I do love all of their products. Especially their foundations are amazing in my opinion. However, this collection seemed a little different. It seemed to be more ‘young’ and I felt like the formula was going to be a lot different from their ‘classic’ products.
In the end however I decided I couldn’t not try it and I ordered it anyway. I was really excited about the shade range and I do love myself a good thin foundation with a medium coverage. I really can’t wait to give this a couple of good proper tries and see what it looks like on my skin. I already love the look of the bottle and I’m pretty sure this is the closest shade match I’ve ever had from a Dior foundation.
The last item I’m trialling at the moment is this Rituals The Ritual Of Karma Face Sunscreen with SPF50. I have been eyeing this face sunscreen for a long time now because of the adorable packaging and the nice scent. I also just really love Rituals and I think you can never have enough protection for your face. Up until now the only face sunscreen I’ve used is my beloved Biodermal one, but it was time to switch it up.
According to what I’ve read this one has a bit of a thicker and richer formula, which makes it more appropriate for the winter months for my skin. I’m really excited to see what it will be like in reality, but I do have to say that I already have pretty high hopes for this. I’m not sure whether it’s interesting to review now that it’s winter, but well, knowing me I’ll probably review it anyway!
That’s pretty much it for today. Those were all of the products that I’m currently trialling. I hope you thought this was rather interesting to read and be sure to let me know which reviews you’re excited for!
