I still remember the days when I hated wearing lipsticks. I thought it was the worst thing ever, the feeling of lipstick on your lips. Nowadays I’m really the opposite of that. I love wearing lipstick and I never leave the house without wearing one. I also always carry at least 7 lipsticks with me whenever I leave home. Even though I do have a pretty big collection of lipsticks, which allows me to wear something different every day for at least half a year, I have a couple of favourites that I reach for almost always. In today’s post I’m going to show you those top favourites. So, if you’re interested in finding out which lipsticks are my main go-to’s, make sure you continue reading this post!
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 54 Boy – €37
The first lipstick is my most reached-for lipstick of all times. It’s the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in Boy. While taking these pictures I’ve actually come to realise that it’s almost gone. The part you see on the picture is the only bit left. I really need to repurchase this very, very soon!
Anyway, Boy is just the most perfect everyday nude colour. These Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks have this super pretty sheer finish to them, which makes it even more wearable. It’s a shade that looks very flattering on my skin tone and that goes with literally everything. This is the lipstick I almost always slap on my lips whenever I don’t know what else to go for. This is literally always in one of my bags. Always!
Another thing I really love about this lipstick is that it’s very comfortable to wear. It’s a very hydrating formula that feels lightweight. It makes my lips feel soft and smooth and it doesn’t feel annoying at all. It also has a really pretty glossy finish which makes it just perfect. Love, love, love this lipstick!
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in 84 Dialogue – €37
Moving on to another Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick. This one is a more recent purchase but I’ve been reaching for it so much ever since I got it that it had to be included in this post. Normally I’m not one for wearing bright lip colours and especially no reds. I only wear red lips on Christmas. However, because this lipsticks range has these really pretty sheer finishes, even a colour like this one gets very wearable. And I do love myself a funky colour that’s wearable.
Dialogue is just a really pretty red because it’s a very juicy and fresh colour. It’s a fresh, strawberry red. I think that it looks very pretty on my skin tone and I love how it makes every boring, dull look instantly more interesting. It’s the perfect ‘cherry on the pie’ kind of lipstick.
And just like the other Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick I just mentioned, this one also has that amazing texture. It’s super smooth, glossy and comfortable to wear. I think it’s literally one of the best lipstick ranges in the history of lipsticks and I love that. I also love how it allows me to be comfortable and how it allows me to wear a bright colour without having to go all out.
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 61 Bonheur – €37
This next favourite is another and the last Chanel lipstick that I’m showing you today. This is the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in Bonheur. This was the second Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick I ever bought and I instantly fell in love with it. I bought it because I loved the shade Boy so much that I needed to expand my collection. Because these lipsticks are rather sheer I decided to go for a more fun, bright colour. Ending with Bonheur. Bonheur is a really pretty purply pink colour with a bit of a sheen to it. I think it’s a very unique colour as it is more purple than most similar, berry kind of colours.
Just like the other two Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipsticks, this one is again, very flattering on my skin tone. It seems to be a trend with these Chanel lipsticks. It also brightens up every look and adds a new dimension to them. It’s a colour that is in between a wearable and a bright shade. It’s festive but also perfect for all year round wear. It’s comfortable, has a really pretty glossy finish and it actually does last really long on my lips. It kind of stains the lips in a way that even hours after the top layer has faded, your lips will still have a bit of a pinky tone to them.
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine in 41 Beige Blouse – €39,30
After all of the Chanel favourites it’s time for a new brand and range. This is my beloved Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick in Beige Blouse. This was the first YSL lipstick I ever bought and it really opened up a whole new world of lipstick for me. It made me realise that there was more to the world than MAC lipsticks and I’m really thankful for that. No shade towards MAC lipsticks, but this is just a lot better in terms of comfort.
This shade is very versatile and perfect for everyday. It’s just the best my-lips-but-better shade. I also really love the texture on this lipsticks. It’s a very rich, buttery smooth lipstick that really glides onto the lips. It feels like a lip conditioner and it actually hydrates my lips throughout the time that I’m wearing it. Because of the creamy and rich texture it also has the prettiest creamy finish. I don’t just love that finish for the look of it, but also because it somehow makes my lips look a little bit bigger. All in all this YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick is amazing and definitely worth the major hype!
Dior Lip Glow in 006 Berry – €35,50
Having touched on the YSL Lipstick, let’s move onto another one of my favourite brands and lip products: Dior! This is the amazing Dior Lip Glow in Berry and it’s one of the best products in the whole entire world. This is a tinted lip balm and it’s the best one ever. Ever since I started getting into lip products tinted lip balms have been my favourite. That because they feel like a lip balm, but have the colour of a lipstick. It’s the best of both worlds: comfort and lip care.
This one by Dior might seem very overpriced for a lip balm, but it’s so worth it to me. It has a very unique texture that makes it feel like you have literally nothing on your lips. At first this made me think I didn’t apply enough, but that’s definitely not the case. It’s just a very thin formula. The shade I got, called Berry, is a very pretty wearable autumnal shade. It makes my lips berry in a rather natural way. It’s sheer but it’s noticeable. But the best thing of all is that this lip balm makes my lips so incredible soft and smooth. I can’t miss this during the colder months! It’s definitely a go-to of mine.
Dior Addict Lipstick in 623 Not Shy – €37,50
My last favourite lipstick, or well, go-to lipsticks is this Dior Addict Lipstick in Not Shy. The Dior Addict Lipsticks have been favourites of mine for the longest time. One of the first luxury items and my first Dior item ever actually was a Dior Addict Lipstick. That does really say something about how much I love them.
The thing with these Addict Lipsticks is that they are the most comfortable and wearable lipsticks that they make. They aren’t all sheer, but they aren’t as heavy and thick as the lipsticks from for example the Lacquer Stick Lipstick range. I love those as well, but this one is way more wearable. I also really love the shiny finish it has and how well this buddy stays in place. It just doesn’t budge no matter what you do with it. I really love a lipstick like that. Whenever I do wear something that isn’t sheer, I at least want to be sure that it ain’t going nowhere!
Having discussed all of the lipsticks one by one I thought it might be fun to add in a little swatch of every lipstick. I do feel like the shade from Chanel, Boy, doesn’t look as pretty on the swatch as it does on my lips. But I did review it and post a swatch on the lips in there, so if you do want to see what it truly looks like, you might want to check that out.
Overall I do think that I have a lot of amazing go-to lipsticks. Ranging from very natural colours to more out there colours. I think each and every single one of these lip products is the very best and totally worth it!
Thank you guys so much for reading today’s post and be sure to let me know which lipsticks are your go-to’s and also let me know why they are!
