Foundation has always been one of my favourite products in makeup. I don’t really know where it came from because when I started loving it I still had amazing skin with no blemishes at all, but well, I just loved it. Because of my love for foundation I have tried a lot, A LOT, of foundations throughout the years. From cheap to luxurious, I have tried them all. Therefore I thought it might be a great idea to share my top 5 favourite foundations of all time with you guys. Just to give you an idea of which foundations are really worth the money and which ones actually stood the test of time. So, if you’re interested in finding out which foundations are my absolute favourites, make sure you continue reading!
1. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Oil-Free – €48
The first foundation is the amazing Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Oil-Free. This is the most recent foundation out of the five I’m showing you today, but it is definitely a big favourite. In fact, I’ve already almost gone through one entire tube of this stuff. That’s how amazing I think it is. And just for the record, I never really finish a makeup product. That rarely happens. Especially in foundations since I switch them up so much I hardly ever come to the point where it’s just gone.
Anyway, that’s not what we’re here to discuss for. Let’s talk about the quality of the product. The Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Oil-Free is an amazing sheer coverage foundation. Because of its sheer coverage it’s very light and natural on the skin which makes it an amazing product for everyday wear. Even though it does have a sheer finish, it does still do a great job at covering up my blemishes and redness. I don’t know how it does it, but this product has the perfect amount of coverage combined with natural-looking-ness in it. It’s just the best I’ve ever seen.
I also wears extremely comfortable throughout the day. It’s a foundation that feels weightless and therefore it’s perfect for girls who don’t like the feeling of wearing foundation. It’s just the perfect natural yet covering product ever. I love, love, love this stuff!
2. Dior Nude Skin-Glowing Makeup – €53
My next favourite is another big, big favourite. This product definitely stood the test of time since this is one of my first luxury foundation purchases. This is the Dior Nude Skin-Glowing Makeup. It’s another rather natural looking foundation with a sheer to medium coverage, that makes your skin look really nice and flawless in a very natural way. Back in the day I was all about the full-coverage stuff, but ever since I tried this foundation I adore the natural look as well. It’s just so pretty and it’s not as cakey and makeuppy as some high-coverage foundations can be.
I also love the texture of this foundation. Somehow all these Dior foundations have this really smooth texture. Their foundation just glide onto your like like it’s silk. It’s a very weird experience and it’s difficult to describe, but if you’ve ever tried a Dior foundation yourself or if you’ve ever seen someone apply it to someone else, I think that this will make more sense to you.
Anyway, the Dior Nude Foundation is just one of the best luxury foundations out there. It has the right amount of coverage, a gorgeous dewy yet natural finish and it wears extremely comfortably.
3. Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet Smooth-Effect Makeup – €44
Next up is my beloved Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet Foundation. I believe this was the second Chanel foundation I bought and this actually convinced me that all Chanel foundations are incredible. Because of this foundation I have continued buying Chanel foundations that I now love very dearly, but this is still my favourite out of the bunch.
The reason why I love it so much is because the colour of it matches my skin tone really well. It’s really nice and light and that’s exactly what my skin tone is like as well. I also love that this is a very weightless and thin foundation, it has quite a watery formula. However, it does have medium to high coverage to it, which makes it the perfect foundation to use on days where my skin really needs a little more coverage to look good. And trust me, that does happen a lot.
What I like about this product is that it covers up most of my imperfections but it does it in a very natural way. It definitely doesn’t look like you’re wearing foundation, even though it covers so well. It also has a nice and semi-matte finish which is great for people with oily skin like me, and it stays in place all day long! This is a great little friend of mine and I highly recommend trying it if you’re looking for something with quite a bit of coverage but still a very natural finish!
4. Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation – €46
Then we have a big, big love of mine, the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation. I have to admit that I have been a big fan of the Bobbi Brown foundations for years now, but this really blew my mind. The first Bobbi Brown foundation I got was the Longwear Even Finish Foundation, which was incredible as well, but when I bought this I fell even more in love with the brand Bobbi Brown.
The Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation is another one of those very natural looking and weightless foundations. The formula is very smooth and silky and the application of this foundation is just incredibly quick and easy. I still am impressed by how quick this goes on and how good it looks with such little effort.
I also like how it does even out my skin tone, but not too heavily. It does let a blemish peep through here and there, with helps with the ‘making it look more natural’ proces I like to go through. I just don’t want to look like I’m wearing about 30 pounds of makeup on my face and if that’s not what you’re going for as well, I think you’ll absolutely love this foundation! It’s stunning!
5. IT Cosmetics CC+ Full Coverage Cream – £30
Lastly we have the IT Cosmetics CC+ Full Coverage Cream. I almost used up the entire tube of this already, that’s how much I love it. This is the only full coverage product in this list and that’s because full coverage really isn’t my look anymore nowadays. However, I don’t know how, but somehow this foundation does have full coverage but still looks incredibly natural on my skin. I love the yellowy tone in the shade, it’s very flattering, and the scent of it is really nice as well. It’s a bit of a more creamy yet smooth textured foundation that goes on really smoothly.
The result of it is just stunning. It creates such a gorgeous, even base with a healthy glow too it but no greasiness. It’s very, very pretty and in my opinion the best full coverage foundation out there!
Those were my top 5 favourite foundations of all time. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and be sure to let me know which foundations are your absolute favourites!
