Lately my skin has been a serious hot mess with pimples everywhere. And whatever I tried to do in order to fix it, didn’t seem to work. Therefore I decided to look out in the market and see if there’s anything out there to help me clear my skin. I ended up coming across the Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution from The Body Shop and I decided to give it a proper go. So I bough it, I’ve been using it day and night for a couple of weeks now and today I’m going to let you guys know whether or not it has worked for me. If you’re interested in finding out more about this product, make sure you continue reading this post!
The Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution from The Body Shop comes in a really fancy looking packaging. It’s a greenish glass bottle with a white label around it telling us what this is. The lid is actually a dropper with a black colour. I really love the design of this bottle. The Body Shop has been doing a good job with their new packagings throughout the past couple of years. I really think the looks have improved and everything looks way more chic and professional these days. I’m a big fan of this streamlined, simple look. It’s definitely up my alley.
The bottle is relatively big in size. Or at least, bigger than I expected it to be. It comes with a total of 50 ml. This is quite a regular amount of product for a product like this, so nothing too shocking. I just thought it would be smaller because it’s a concentrated product and those usually come in smaller doses. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like this big size.
All in all I’m a fan of the looks of this product. It looks chic, professional and classy. The size is very decent and now I’m just excited to tell you guys more about what’s in here.
The Body Shop Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution 50 ml – €14
According to The Body Shop, their Tea Tree Solution is a lightweight gel with 100% biological tea tree oil. It should help combat blemishes and improve the overall condition of the skin. The tea tree oil helps the skin look and feel purified, clearer and mattified. After four weeks the skin should look and feel:
- More calm
- Clearer
- Smoother
- Healthier
- More mattified
- Less red
That does definitely sound very interesting. I didn’t really know that it was supposed to do all of those things. I just thought tea tree was great for imperfections, but I didn’t know that it’s also supposed to be calming and reducing redness. That’s definitely a lovely surprise.
The Body Shop claims that these effects should be visible after using the solution day and night for four weeks straight. On the box it actually said that there were also supposed to be visible changes after a day and after two weeks. But I actually threw that box out yesterday because I assumed the same information would be on the website. Well that ain’t true.
The solution is very easy to use. You use it in both your morning and night routine for the best results. According to The Body Shop you only need two to three drops of this solution for your entire face. I personally need a little more than that, but that’s okay. You easily massage it onto your skin, it sinks in really quickly and you’re good to go. They recommend you using it on cleansed skin, before moisturiser. I like that they specify that, because now it’s clear to me which step in your routine this stuff should be. I never really know that when no one tells me that to be honest.
Anyway, the solution feels nice and lightweight. On the Dutch website they call it a gel and I don’t know if I really think that’s what it is. It feels way more liquid than an actual gel, but on the other hand I do get where they are coming from. Anyway, it is really liquid. I like to just put some drops directly onto my face instead of in my hands first. I find this a lot easier, but you do what’s easiest for you. Don’t mind me doing this in my own way.
Because this is one of those products that shows the most result after four weeks of using it, I wanted to make sure I’m giving you the most exact information on when I actually started using it and how long ago that is from now. That information does heavily influence my opinion. So, I bought this product on the 24th of May and I received it on the 27th. This day I didn’t use it because I was at my boyfriends’, so I started using it on the 28th of May 2019. I’m writing this post at the 26th of June, which means I’ve been using it for a little over four weeks. I have used it without fail every day and night after cleansing, before moisturising.
In the beginning I didn’t notice a whole lot. I noticed that my skin felt nice and smooth right after applying it, but no crazy differences. I liked it especially in the morning because of its mattifying properties, but overall I thought it was an okay product. After almost three weeks is when I started to notice genuine differences. My skin started to feel more smooth. I did still have quite a few imperfections going on, but they weren’t growing like they normally would. They stayed small and almost unnoticeable. I liked that. I also liked how smooth the texture of my skin felt. It’s different from what I’m used to.
After four weeks of using this solution my skin does definitely look a lot more even. I have to say that I did get a little outburst of pimples throughout the testing period, but that was due to a sudden attack of stress and couldn’t be stopped by a product like this. I did notice that this product did help reduce the amount and redness of my pimples a lot. Normally big pimples stay on my skin for what seems to be ages. When using this solution twice a day, they started to shrink within a matter of days.
All in all I have to say I am more impressed by this The Body Shop Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution than I thought I would be. I mean, throughout my life I’ve used so many product aimed at reducing imperfections. From high end to low budget and nothing seemed to really make that difference for me. I won’t say that this is some kind of magical solution, but it has made a clear difference in my skin. It does take some dedication to use it every single day without fail morning and night, but I feel like that is needed in order to get proper effects from it. For me it has made enough difference to continue using it and repurchase it when I run out. If you struggle with lots of imperfections I definitely think it can be worth the try. It’s not as harsh as your usual anti-imperfection skincare and for me it really did make a difference.
And with that being said I’m ready to end today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it and be sure to let me know what products you like to use to clear your skin and reduce imperfections!
