When you guys are reading this, it has already been quite a while since The Body Shop launched their new Cactus Blossom scent range. But when I’m writing this, it’s actually fairly new. It’s a range that suits are summer-needs perfectly. Fresh with a hint of floral. I liked the sound of that and therefore I decided to buy myself a jar of my very favourite The Body Shop product: a body yogurt. If this isn’t the perfect product for summer, I don’t know what is. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now, which means that it’s about time for me to review this little guy. If you’re interested in finding out what it’s like, make sure you continue reading this post!
The Body Yogurts from The Body Shop all come in these really adorable little packagings. They are little jars with a rounded bottom, a colourful colour and a lid with a black side. I do really love the design of it. It’s fresh, modern and good looking. I also really like the fact that the jars are nice and compact. They don’t take in much space in my drawer. And when it comes to the amount of product you get, I think it’s very decent. 200 ml of product is more than enough. In the body butters from The Body Shop you also get 200 ml and those packagings are much bigger and a lot more expensive. You really get a great bang for your buck with these body yogurts, I’m telling ya!
Anyway, in terms of looks I’m also a big fan of this particular packaging. The jar is bright green and that’s a super fresh and summery colour. The lid is decorated with the most stunning flower ever. I think the pink of the flower goes really well with the green of the rest of the jar. It’s just a really good looking combination of colours. I also think that the black and pink letters on the side look really cute. Over all this packaging is really up my alley.
The Body Shop Cactus Blossom Body Yogurt 200 ml – €10,-
Like most of you guys already know, The Body Shop has a ton of different scents in their body yogurt collection. This Cactus Blossom scent is fairly new. It’s their summer special edition scent. I like that because it’s unique and it does actually smell very summery.
When I first heard the name ‘cactus blossom’, I didn’t really know what to expect. Now that I have it, I get where they are coming from with that name. The body yogurt has a very fresh and fruity scent. It has some strong citrussy notes in it, combined with a hint of floral. It’s a bit unique in my collection of mainly warm, floral scents. But I actually really like it. Especially when it’s really hot outside, I think this is a great refreshment.
In use I really like the body yogurt. I already knew I would because this isn’t my first one, but still, it didn’t disappoint at all. The body yogurt is super lightweight and thin. The formula is super easy to apply and spread all over the skin and it sinks in within a split second. It leaves behind a cooling sensation and nothing heavy or greasy at all. In the end your skin will feel nice and moisturised, without the struggle of a heavy body lotion or butter. It’s literally heaven!
If I have to be very critical, I should say that the ingredient list of this body yogurt doesn’t look as good as the ingredient lists we’re used to from stores like Lush. Obviously you can’t compare the two, but I’m still going to do so.
Aqua/Water/Eau, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat., Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol, Parfum/Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Carbomer, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter/Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Dimethiconol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Hydroxide, Benzyl Benzoate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydroxycitronellal, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Limonene, Benzyl Alcohol, Citronellol, Cereus Grandiflorus Flower Extract/Cactus Flower Extract, Coumarin, Glucose, Sodium Benzoate, Lactic Acid, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Seed Extract/Sweet Almond Seed Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid, CI 19140/Yellow 5, CI 42090/Blue 1.”
The base is water in combination with glycerin. It also has a lot of alcohol and perfume in there and the good, hydrating extracts are more located towards the bottom of the list. Obviously it ain’t that bad. This body yogurt still has lots of good things to offer. But it isn’t as natural and fuzz-free as a Lush body care product would be.
Despite that, I do really like this Cactus Blossom Body Yogurt from The Body Shop. I think that it’s a very amazing product, with a great scent and an amazing formula. It really is something I have not seen before.
All in all I’m a big fan of my new Cactus Blossom Body Yogurt but I don’t think that comes as a big surprise to you guys. The Body Shop is after all one of my favourite brands when it comes to body care. And this scent is just phenomenal. It’s one of the first citrussy scents that I actually really, genuinely like. The formula of the product is really nice and lightweight and that makes this my summer go to body lotion. I love, love, love it!
And with that being said I think it’s about time to end today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it, and be sure to let me know if you love the Body Yogurts from The Body Shop as well!
