The Almond Milk & Honey has been my favourite scent from The Body Shop ever since it launched a couple of years ago. At first I only had the Almond Milk & Honey Shower Gel and after a while I added the Almond Milk & Honey Body Yoghurt to my collection as well. The only product that was missing and that I really wanted to try was the Body Butter. I know there are much more products within the range, but these three were the ones I desperately wanted to have. After loving the scent for literally ages I recently finally decided to buy the The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Body Butter. I’ve been using it throughout the past couple of weeks and today it’s time for the review. If you’re interested in finding out more about this product, make sure you continue reading this post!
The Almond Milk & Honey Body Butter from The Body Shop comes in the typical body butter packaging. The packaging is round and made out of white plastic. On the lid is a picture of milk and honey, which is very representative of the scent of this product. On the side of the jar it says what scent it is and it gives you a tiny bit more information about the product. Not a lot, but just the basics. All in all the packaging does look very basic but also really sleek. The fact that it is white does make it look even more minimalistic and I’m a big fan of that look in packagings. The size of the jar is also pretty decent. It’s a bulky jar but it does come with a total of 200 ml of product. That is a really decent amount. Comparing the bulkiness of this packaging to the Rituals Body Cream packagings I don’t think this is half bad.
All in all I’m a big fan of the packaging of this body butter. I like the sleek and minimalistic look of it and I think that it does look very professional. It is a big jar but it does come with a lot of product. It’s easy to hold and easy to store because the packaging isn’t super high. It’s wide but that’s pretty much it.
The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Restoring Body Butter 200 ml – €16
Moving on to the scent of the product. The Almond Milk & Honey products have a very specific scent that makes me feel very nice and cosy. It has something warm and soothing to it, but also something that makes it smell very fresh and clean. The only thing that did surprise me is that the scent of this body butter is rather different than the scent of the matching body yogurt and shower gel. Somehow those two products have a way more intense smell and smell much more like almond milk and honey than this body butter does. This body butter has a way more muted scent. It has some sort of body butter scent lingering through. That might sound very vague, but what I’m trying to say is that the other two products have amore pure or true scent. This one has the scent of the body butter itself mixed with the scent of the product range.
Because of that I was a little disappointed in the scent. I love the intensity of the scent in the body yogurt and that’s also what I expected this to smell like. I don’t hate the scent of this body butter at all, but it’s not what I expected. It’s still nice and if you don’t like your body butter to smell very intense you’d probably be happy with this. But for me it did disappoint a little bit.
Something I do like better about this body butter compared to the body yogurt is how moisturising it feels on the skin. Because it is a butter rather than a yogurt the texture is way thicker and more rich. Especially during the winter when my skin gets dry I do like to use something a little bit heavier like this product.
In terms of texture there is quite a lot of difference between some of the body butters from The Body Shop. Some are like very hard and thick butters and some are more creamy. I feel like this one is a bit of a combination between both. For example the Shea Body Butter is very thick and hard and the British Rose Body Butter is more of a sot and creamy type of product. This one is easier to smear across the body than the shea version is and it’s not has hard in texture. However it isn’t as much of a cream as the british rose one seems to be. I do like that. It’s pretty much the best of both worlds. It is easy to spread out but it’s also very rich.
When it comes to leaving the body smell good I do think it is a nice product. Like I said the fragrance isn’t very strong, but it does leave behind a settle scent. And that scent smells really, really good. I’m a big fan of it personally. It also leaves behind a nice moisturising feeling layer. It is a bit greasy feeling so that is something you should like if you are going to use a body butter, but I like it. Well, I wouldn’t like it when it’s like hot outside, but now that it’s somewhat colder I do like that feeling.
The last thing I want to say about it is that it’s definitely a product I use to treat myself. It’s not a quick and out of the door product. That’s because it does have this rich formula that takes some time to sink into the skin. If you do want that quick out of the door kinda product you should go for the body yogurt. That one sinks into the skin within seconds.
All in all I do like the The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Restoring Body Butter. I’m in general a big fan of the formula and the texture of the body butters from The Body Shop. They aren’t as lightweight as some other body products can be, but they do feel really nice and hydrating on the skin. It really is a product I use to pamper myself. I was a little bit disappointed in the scent compared to other products I own from this range, but aside from that I do like the product a whole lot!
With that being said I think it’s time to end today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which body butter from The Body Shop you love the most!
Die is echt fantastisch he!
