A long time ago The Body Shop had a body butter that smelled like almond. It was the most amazing thing I had ever smelled, but sadly it was discontinued short after I discovered that heaven of a product. A while ago they launched a new range called Almond Milk & Honey. Since it does include almond I was very interested in trying it out and that’s why I bought a bottle of the shower cream from that range. Today I’m going to review it. If you’re interested in finding out whether it smells as amazing as the almond body butter I was talking about and whether it’s a great shower cream or not, make sure you continue reading!
The TBS Almond Milk & Honey Soothing & Caring Shower Cream comes in the regular TBS shower gel packaging. It’s a clear bottle with a nice shape to it and a pretty natural feel. On the front it shows what the main ingredients are of this shower cream (almond milk and honey) in the form of a little picture and it gives you the most important information on the shower gel. Because the shower gel has this milky colour I do think the packaging of this shower cream looks even better than the other ones just because I like that milky look.
The bottle contains 250 ml of shower cream which is a pretty standard amount. Because a little bit goes a long way with these shower gels a bottle like this does last me quite a while, but if you use it on a daily basis (I do shower daily, I just don’t use the same shower gel everyday) you might go through it a lot faster.
The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Shower Cream – €7
On the front of the bottle The Body Shop tells us that this shower cream is perfect for sensitive and dry skin. I did figure it would be for dry skin since almond milk and honey are both very nourishing ingredients that are very soft and gentle to the skin as well. I personally don’t have that dry skin, but to be completely honest with you guys I don’t think a shower gel has that much effect on your skin.
Anyway, it also says that this shower cream is free of colourants, soap, mineral oil and petrolatum. I’m personally not someone who goes through ingredients of shower gels to check whether it has bad ingredients in it but I obviously always like it when it’s free of those bad ingredients.
Moving on to the shower gel itself. Or shower cream as The Body Shop calls it. The shower cream has a really nice scent to it. It’s everything I expected and more. It has this really nice and warm almond scent but in a more milky way. It’s like the milky version of that almond body butter if you’ve ever smelled that. The honey isn’t too strong scent-wise and I am happy about that. I personally don’t love the scent of honey too much so I was already hoping it wouldn’t be too out there. However, you can tell that there is honey in here a little bit because of the slight sweet touch to the scent. I know this sounds very vague, but this is the best way I can describe it.
The texture of the shower cream is really nice as well. It’s a little bit more rich than a regular shower gel – hence the name – and that feels really nice on the body. It’s a very smooth shower gel that glides over the body easily and it isn’t too greasy in a way it might feel sticky on your skin.
After showering with it I feel very fresh, clean and also very calm. It’s a really nice and calming scent. Therefore I think it’s the perfect shower cream to use if you’re a night shower-er like I am, because it won’t wake you up too much. I also think that the scent is great for autumn and winter because of the warmth so that’s also a good thing.
Overall I just really like this shower gel. I already expected to like it because I just really like the scent of almond, but I’m glad this shower cream didn’t disappoint me in any way. It’s super soft on the skin, it’s creamy and it makes me smell delicious. I love, love, love it!
And that basically concludes today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which shower gel is your current favourite and why!
