Ever since I bought the Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Palette I’ve been madly in love with Tarte makeup. The palette has such amazing pigmentation and the eyeshadows are so incredibly creamy and rich, I just loved them and I really, really wanted more. So after a while I finally bought a new Tarte palette, this time I bought the Showstopper palette. If you’re interested in finding out more about this gorgeous palette, make sure you keep on reading!
The Tarte Showstopper Palette comes in a really, really fancy looking packaging. The outside is made out of a rubbery purple material with snakeskin print and the rest of the palette is gold. On the inside you’ll also find quite a big mirror and to top all of that off, it also comes with a brush. How amazing?!
The Tarte Showstopper palette is a very travel friendly palette. That because it comes with about 40% of the products you need for a full face of makeup. I really like that about this palette.
Before we jump into all the details regarding the palette, I first want to talk about the brush it comes with for a second. This is a dual ended brush. On one side you’ll find quite a big and dense but relatively flat brush which is really nice for applying either your eyelid colour or your highlight shade, but it could also be used to apply something into the crease.
The other side has a bit of a fluffier and bigger brush which is still pretty dense, but not as dense as the other side. Because of the fact that it’s bended this side is supposed to be perfect for applying basically anything into the crease. I believe they even call it the ‘crease finder’. Both sides are very high quality brushes and they’re definitely brushes I’d use.
Like I said this is a very travel friendly palette. That because it comes with six different shades of eyeshadow, enough to create several different looks with, and it comes with a blush, a bronzer and a highlighter. I’ve always wanted to try one of Tarte’s blushes, so I’m really glad I have one in here!
So now that we know that, let’s look at the claims Tarte is making about this gorgeous palette:
“This chic palette includes a liner with a lid, crease, and highlighter eye shadows to play up your glamorous stare—from work day to evening on the town looks. These warm, flattering eye and cheek shades features six never-before-seen shadows, a full-size blush, and a highlighter/bronzer duo that’s perfect for creating camera-ready looks. Infused with tarte’s iconic Amazonian clay, each fade-free, blendable formula is inspired by the glitz and glam of Hollywood and is perfect for camera-ready makeup looks”. – Tarte
I have to say that I do pretty much agree with everything Tarte just said there. This palette is in fact incredibly beautiful and filled with the prettiest, warm, shades to create a day look, a night look as well as an inbetween look. It’s such a versatile palette that it can be used for any occasion you can think of.
When it comes to the blendability of the eyeshadows they’re not lying either. The eyeshadows, as well as the other three powders, are highly pigmented and super easy to work with. They blend like a charm but they don’t fade too quite. I love it!
So let’s start looking at some swatches shall we!
Showstopper Copper – Showstopper Copper is one of my favourite colours in this palette. It’s a really pigmented coppery brown shade with a bit of shimmer but nothing to crazy. I’d actually prefer calling it a bit of a sheen instead of shimmer
Go For The Gold – This is a warm gold colour. It looks a bit yellow in the pan but it’s actually a gold with a brown undertone. Just like Showstopper Copper it has a bit of a sheen to it, but it’s not super shimmery.
You’re A Natural – You’re A Natural is the perfect transition shade. If you have light brows it could even work as a brow powder. It’s a light brown shade that is more pigmented that it appears to be and very versatile.
Steel The Scene – This is a very pretty dark brown shimmery shade with shimmer to it. This is one of the more cool toned shades in the palette. I really love using this all over the lid but it’s also a gorgeous colour for in the crease.
Rose To The Top – Rose To The Top is actually Steel The Scene but instead of with a cool undertone it has a warm undertone. This is one of my favourite colours ever because it’s so pretty and perfect for everyday looks.
Dim The Light – Dim The Light is a shade you could either use in the outer V to really darken up your look if you’re in the mood for something more dramatic, but it could also be used as an eyeliner. It would look really good like that as well.
Onto the blush, bronzer and highlighter!
Park Ave Princess – This is a really, really pretty pigmented bronzer. I have been looking for a good bronzer for a while now and this is it. This isn’t too warm toned but it’s not too cool toned either. It’s perfect for sculpting the face but it could also be used for adding some warmth to the skin. I really love this bronzer!
Champagne Pink – Champagne Pink is a really pretty white highlighter with a bit of a warm undertone to it. It’s shimmery but it’s not too intense. It’s a nice and settle highlighter for those days you don’t want to shine like a diamond.
Fame – The blush that comes in this palette, called Fame, is absolutely stunning. It’s a peachy blush without any shimmer to it whatsoever. It’s a blush I could use on a daily basis and the best thing about it is that it’s a full size!
Overall I think the quality of the products in this palette is insane. It’s a bit of an investment, but this palette is really worth it. You get everything you need for lots of types of eye looks. And I love how amazing the blush, bronzer and highlighter are that come with this palette.
Like I said, the shadows are really blendable, but the texture of the shadows as well as the powders is really nice as well. The texture is very rich, luxurious and buttery. They go on like a dream and they stay intense all day!
Overall I really think that this Showstopper Clay palette is a big fat hit. I’m so glad I bought another Tarte palette. Tarte products just never disappoint me. This is one of the most high quality palettes I’ve ever tried and it looks and feels incredibly luxurious. I highly, highly, highly recommend giving this palette a try!
The Tarte Showstopper Clay Palette is available at QVC.co.uk and Sephora.com.
