Tarte has been one of my favourite brands over the last few months. I am in love with their Amazonian Clay foundation, their lipsticks have blew me away and I’m obsessed with their eyeshadow palettes. Another thing Tarte supposedly does great is making mascara’s. Today I’m going to review one of their most populair mascara’s ever: the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara. If you’re interested in finding out more about it, make sure you continue reading!
The Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara comes in a very unique packaging. It’s very one of a kind and that’s what I love about it. It’s made out of a leathery material and it has a metallic purple colour to it and gold letters on the front.
I love it. It’s not very high-class, top shelve looking, but looking at this packaging you know it wasn’t cheap. And that’s what I like about it.
Before we jump into any detail regarding the actual product, let’s first take a closer look at the wand of this mascara. I always like to think that the wand of a mascara is one of the most important aspects. I always feel like a mascara wand can make or break a mascara, so for me a wand has to be incredible.
This particular wand doesn’t seem very special. It actually seems rather simple, but simple doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing. The thing I like about this wand is that it’s not insanely thick or big, I just don’t think huge wands are easy to work with. Even though I do prefer wands with rubber spikes, this wand with just regular hairs works great for me too. It’s thin enough to have enough control while applying the mascara, but it’s thick enough to add enough volume to the lashes. I like it!
So, now we have discussed the wand thoroughly, it’s time to discuss the actual product. According to Tarte their Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara is a lengthening, curling, volumising and conditioning mascara that conditions, treats and protects the lashes. I do think that it’s nice that Tarte includes the conditioning part in their claims. Most mascara’s are just made to give you thick and voluminous lashes, the fact that this claims to do more makes it even more unique and outstanding and I love that.
I do have to admit that I think it’s hard to judge whether or not it actually conditions my lashes, but because I adore Tarte so much I give them the benefit of the doubt and believe what they are saying.
When it comes to the results I can’t say anything else than: I love it. This mascara instantly makes my lashes look incredibly voluminous, thick and black and it also separates them in a really nice way. And all of that only takes one coat. How incredible is that?! Good job Tarte!
Staying power wise it’s also an incredibly amazing product. I always struggle with getting panda-eyes during the day because of my mascara but when I use this mascara nothing like that even slightly happens. It stays in place all day no matter where you are or what you are. This mascara doesn’t budge.
So, I think it’s clear I really like this mascara. It’s lengthening, volumising and it makes my lashes look super luscious and black. It’s by far one of the best mascara’s I’ve ever tried and I totally get why it’s such a populair product. It’s slightly more expensive than a Maybelline mascara, but in my opinion it’s totally worth it!
The Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara is available at QVC for £21,50.
That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which mascara is your current favourite!
XOXO, Nicole.
