Tarte eyeshadows are my favourite eyeshadows in the world. They are creamy, they are pigmented and they are, in my opinion, the very best. When I saw Tarte came out with another eyeshadow palette I knew I had to buy it. After testing in thoroughly it’s time for the review. If you’re interested in finding out more about this little palette, make sure you continue reading!
This Tarte Eyes & Cheeks palette comes in a very fun and bright packaging. It has a nice pattern going on at the front with blue, purple and gold and the rest of the packaging is made out of a gold material. Even though it’s quite simple I do think it looks very fun and therefore I really like it.
This Tarte Eyes & Cheeks palette is, I believe, exclusive to this set for QVC but I’m not a 100% certain about that. The palette doesn’t have a specific name aside from just Eyes & Cheeks palette and contains 6 neutral eyeshadow shades and a reasonably large sized blush.
When you open up the palette you will find the products I just mentioned and a big mirror. This mirror makes this palette so perfect for travelling. I always really, really like that. The inside of the palette looks really pretty as well and is classic Tarte. It’s elegant, it’s pretty and I love it!
The shades that come inside this palette are very neutral and perfect for an everyday look. I like how you can go all ways with this palette. You can go super neutral, in a no makeup-makeup kinda way, you can go everyday basic but you can also darken it up and turn it into an evening look. It’s a very versatile palette!
Four of the six shadows inside this palette are matte. The other two are shimmery. I’m usually a big fan of shimmery shadows, but lately I’ve been starting to appreciate matte eyeshadows more and more, especially if they have that intense and buttery texture that Tarte shadows always have.
Enough with the blabber, let’s get started with discussing the shades one by one and looking at the swatches!
Tide – Tide is the matte highlighter shade in this palette. It’s a creamy off-white colour that has a really nice and buttery texture. It’s not powdery and not too intense, but intense enough to do its job. I really like it.
Sunset – Next to Tide you’ll find one of the most perfect light brown shades. I love shades like this one for sculpting the eyes and to use as a transition colour. It’s, just like Tide, very buttery and rich feeling and it blends like a dream.
Sandcastle – The last shadow of the first row is Sandcastle. This is a darker matt brown shade. This is perfect for deepening up the look, adding a bit more definition or making it a little more dramatic. I really like this shadow because it’s pigmented, it’s nice and intense but it does blend really nicely.
Reflection – Reflection is probably my favourite shade out of the six in this palette. It’s a lilac-toned champagne shade and it’s perfect for adding a bit of glam to the eye look. I think it’s really pretty and quality wise it’s incredible. Tarte really killed it!
Horizon – Next to Reflection we’ll find Horizon. This is another medium brown tint. This one has a bit of a lilacy touch to it and I think that’s very unique and also really pretty. It’s perfect to use in the crease if you want to keep things natural and quality wise it’s just like all other shadows Tarte creates, amazing!
Driftwood – The last shadow of the six is Driftwood. This is a very special colour. It’s a dark brown with red, gold, silver and some green shimmers to it. It might sound very strange but on the eye this shade looks amazing. I absolutely adore it!
The blush that comes in this palette is called Mystified and it’s one of their Rainforest Of The Sea blushes. It’s a very neutral blush tint and I think that’s a great choice for a palette like this. Neutral pink shades like this one go amazingly with pretty much every eyeshadow look ever and they look good on everyone.
It’s also a very pigmented, long wearing and intense product which makes it even more amazing. This blush is pretty much the reason why I am obsessed with Tarte blushes now. I love it!
Overall I’m a really big fan of this Tarte Eyes & Cheeks palette. I’ve been using it a ton lately and that’s purely because the quality is so amazing. Tarte might be on the more expensive side, but it’s definitely a brand I think is worthy of your money. It’s one of the best palettes I own!
The Tarte Eyes & Cheek Palette is available at QVC.
That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know how you like this palette!
