Charity pot. It’s one of Lush’s most amazing products if you ask me. Even when I had never tried it because I thought it was the most amazing thing ever. Just because I think the idea behind this is absolutely amazing. Charity Pot is a product from Lush which they use to support good causes. 100% of the price (minus tax) goes to a small organisation to support whatever good it is they’re doing. If that isn’t amazing, I don’t know what is. So when you’re buying Charity Pot, you’re not just getting an amazing product, you’re also supporting small organisations and good causes. In today’s post I’m going to review it and let you guys know what exactly makes this Charity Pot so amazing. If you’re interested in finding out, make sure you keep on reading!
The Lush Charity Pot comes in two sizes. There’s a small black pot containing 45 grams, this will cost you €7/£4,50 and there’s a bigger size containing 240 grams costing you €21,50/£16. I’ve also seen Lush do a naked version of their Charity Pot, but I believe that was limited edition the the Christmas range. Correct me if I’m wrong about that. Because I had personally never tried Charity Pot before I decided to go for the small, 45 gram version. Just to see what it is like and what I can use it all for.
Like I said, Lush donates the proceeds of their Charity Pot to small organisations. They do support different kinds of organisations. Sometimes it’s a small, local bakery, but a lot of the time it’s an organisation that fights for animals or the environment. What organisations they support can be seen on the lid of the jar. I chose to go for the one with the little pig on it from the organisation ‘Varkens in Nood’ (Pigs in Need).
Lush Charity Pot 45 gr. – €7 / £4,50
On the Lush website they tell us the following about their Charity Pot:
Now in a self-preserving, rebalanced formula, this is an all-round body lotion that does a lot of good – and not just to your skin.
A rich and generous cream that not only helps your skin to look its best, but also adds a glow to the small grassroots charities we work with, as all proceeds go directly to them.
With every purchase of Charity Pot, we donate 100% of the price (minus the taxes) to small, grassroots organisations that could use the helping hand to continue the incredible work that they do. Charity Pot supports organisations that align with our ethics in the areas of environmental conservation, animal welfare and human rights.”
In their description they do mainly focus on the donation-aspect of the Charity Pot and not as much on what’s in it. And I think that’s sad. Because even though I do think the whole idea behind it is amazing, I think they should tell the costumer enough about the product so they are more likely to buy it. Anyway, what Lush does tell us is that Charity Pot is an all-round body lotion that makes the skin look its best.
While in store I have talked with some employees about the Charity Pot. They told me that Charity Pot is actually much more than just a body lotion. It can be used for literally anything. You can use it as a hand cream, you can use it on your body, you can use it on specific dry areas, and whatever else you can think of. It’s a very multifunctional product that basically anyone can use in their life.
In terms of scent the Charity Pot is something that pretty much anyone would like. I mean, it’s not like it smells like nothing, it does have a scent, but it’s so universal I don’t think you can really dislike it. I really don’t know how to describe a scent like this, but it smells very moisturising and also kind of warm. It’s not a very sweet or floral like scent, more like a normal ‘cream’ kind of scent. I guess you just have to go and smell it yourself in order to find out what this smells like, because this description is awful.
The most amazing thing about Charity Pot -in my opinion- is the fact that it’s such a nice and moisturising cream. The body lotion is rather thick in formula and it feels intensely hydrating on the skin. More than any other Lush body lotion or body conditioner I have tried so far. It places a hydrating layer all over the skin, causing you to feel silky soft afterwards. And because it’s so hydrating I do think it’s amazing to use on dry patches or if you have dry skin: all over the body.
All in all Lush Charity Pot is just an amazing product. I love how you can support small organisations with it and I absolutely love the product itself as well. It’s packed with great ingredients and it’s intensely hydrating. It’s a product I think will work amazingly for everyone so if you’re hesitant about buying it, don’t be, just get it. And trust me, you won’t regret it.
With that being said it’s time to end today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it and be sure to let me know what you think of the Charity Pot! Have you tried it yet?
