Sleek is, and always has been, one of my favourite budget brands in the world. A while ago I ordered a few more products by Sleek, including the Sleek Lip 4 Lipstick Palette. I never tried one of the Sleek lipsticks before so this seemed like a great opportunity to try some. Today it’s time for the review. If you’re interested in finding out more about this little lip palette and finding out how they look on the lips, make sure you keep on reading!
The Sleek Lip 4 Lipstick Palette comes in a classic Sleek packaging. It’s completely black and has Sleek written on the lid in shiny black letters. It’s a very pretty and convenient packaging. On the inside you’ll find a mirror, which is a big plus to me. Even though this isn’t necessarily a product I would take with me on the go, this mirror does make it easier for me to do so.
Aside from a mirror and four lipsticks, this palette comes with a little brush as well. You can’t see it on the picture since it kept falling out so I decided to just not include it, but it’s quite a nice and convenient brush and it’s definitely one I’d use to apply these lipsticks with.
The Sleek Lip 4 Lipstick Palette comes, as you might have guessed by now, with four different lipsticks. The palette I have, which is called Showgirl, comes with 4 pinky toned lip colours. A few brighter colours and a few more neutral shades. Overall it’s the perfect palette if you’re looking for some great pink shades.
The thing I like about these lipsticks is that they all have a different finish and texture to them. Jewel, which is the lilacy pink shade in the top left corner, as well as Vegas, which you can find in the bottom right corner, are both very, very creamy soft and shiny. They feel super nice and moisturising on the lips, but do require quite a bit of precision when it comes to the application of both colours.
Dancer, which is the colour in the bottom right corner has a matte finish and therefore it’s a little dry. Usually I really don’t like the way matte lip colours feel on the lips, but I have to say that Dancer isn’t that bad at all. Because of the fact that it’s quite dry, it is a lot easier to apply than the two super creamy ones are because it doesn’t slip and slide everywhere and it’s not that dry that it feels and looks really patchy on the lips.
Lola, which is the colour in the top left corner isn’t as creamy and smooth as Vegas and Jewel are, but it’s also not as dry as Dancer is. It’s pretty much a mix between the two. Because it’s not super slippery like Jewel and Vegas it’s a lot easier to apply because you have more precision and because it’s not as dry as Dancer it glides onto the lips a little easier and it’s more comfortable to wear.
Pigmentation wise all four colours are absolutely amazing. I’m actually really impressed by that. All colours are so intense and opaque and I really like the look of all four colours. My personal favourite colour is Vegas, I think it’s just absolutely stunning and I really like the way it looks on me (if I can say that myself), but the other three colours are really pretty as well.
The staying power of all four colours isn’t bad at all. Dancer, which is the matte shade stays in place the best, which wasn’t very surprising to me, and Jewel and Vegas disappear the quickest, but not super quick. Overall the lasting power is great.
The funny thing is that I used to hate palettes like this one. I didn’t like the way it worked, I thought it was too much work and I thought it’d look nasty after a while, but I have to say I’m quite in love with it now. All colours are just so amazingly pigmented, the finishes are absolutely stunning and all four colours are comfortable to wear. All together, this is a great little palette and I highly recommend it!
The Sleek Lip 4 Lipstick Palette is available at Sleekmakeup.com and other places online for €11,50.
