Inside this month’s LF Beauty Box I found two skincare products I was very interested in. One by the famous brand Caudalie and one by the brand Skin Chemist. After testing them for a while I think it’s about time for me to review the two. So, if you’re interested in finding out whether or not these products are any good, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s start off with the Skin Chemist 24H Aqua Repair Facial Serum. That’s definitely a mouth full. This serum comes in a pretty basic packaging. The tube is plain white and has some text on it in back. Aside from that it doesn’t really have much to it. The box in which it’s packaged has some blue on the side, but that’s as funky as it gets. Overall I do think that the packaging is pretty boring and simple, but I don’t hate it.
Onto the product itself. The Skin Chemist 24H Aqua Repair Facial Serum is a product formulated to soothe and hydrate the skin for all day moisturisation. According to Skin Chemist this would be the perfect product for on the go for a quick zap of hydration.
The three main active ingredients in this serum are rose water, allantoin and aloe vera. The rose water will help calm and soothe the skin. The allantoin aims to moisturise and soothe the skin as well thanks to its healing and anti-inflammatory properties and the aloe very stimulates the healing process of the skin and has anti-inflammatory properties that enable gentle soothing of the skin.

With that information in the back of our heads let’s move on to my experience.
This serum is very unique. It doesn’t have the consistency you expect it to have. It’s actually pretty gel-like but also slightly creamy. It smells really good and because of this gel-like texture a little bit of this goes a very long way. When you massage it in to the skin it feels very refreshing and cooling and you immediately feel the soothing effect they are talking about. It also sinks in pretty quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy layer on the skin which, indeed, makes it perfect for on the go.
When it comes to actually hydrating the skin I think this product does a great job. It does hydrate the skin very well but it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on the skin at all. It actually reminds me of a moisturiser for oily skin when it comes to the consistency and the way it feels on your skin, but it has the hydrating effects of a cream for very dry skin.
Onto the Caudalie Vine[Activ] 3-in-1 Moisturiser. I got a travel size packaging since I got it in the LF Beauty Box of March, but the packaging of the full size is very similar. The tube it just green and has some darker green decorations and text on it. Overall I think the packaging does look very classic and pretty and I really like it!
According to Caudalie this product has multitasking benefits for your skin. They say this is a deeply hydrating formula that delivers anti-wrinkle, anti-pollution and brightening properties. It should be the essential treatment for urban lifestyles and will overall create a healthier-looking skin.
Caudalie Vine[Activ] 3-in-1 Moisturiser – €38,45
This moisturiser has a very nice and velvety consistency. It feels very soft and smooth and I think that’s really nice. It’s not too thick or too heavy so even if you have rather oily skin it can still work for you. The formula is very easy to blend into the skin and it also doesn’t leave a greasy layer on top of your skin.
For my rather greasy skintype this is a moisturiser I would prefer to use in the evening, before I go to bed. But some days when my skin just needs a little extra hydration I do use this in the morning. It immediately gets rid of those dry areas and makes my skin feel very smooth and hydrated. I really like it!
Overall I think that both products are absolutely incredible. I’m very impressed by the Skin Chemist 24H Aqua Repair Facial Serum because it’s such a unique product and the Caudalie Vine[Activ] 3-in-1 Moisturiser is great as well. It definitely lived up to my expectations. Overall I really like both products and I do recommend giving them a try!
And that concludes today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know if you’re familiar with these brands and if so let me know which one of their products is your favourite!
