Back when I was making a wishlist for Poland I came across this Sephora Waterproof Retractable Brow Pencil. The fact that it was waterproof seemed pretty interesting to me and it just looked like a nice brow pencil. When I finally got to Poland and came across a Sephora this brow pencil was one of the first things I picked up. Today I’m going to review it. If you’re interested in finding out more about this pencil, make sure you continue reading!
The Sephora Waterproof Retractable Brow Pencil comes in a very slim long packaging. It’s mainly black and has some information regarding the product printed on it. It’s very basic and casual and I think it does look pretty professional. It’s nothing too fancy or something, but it’s nice.
On one end of the pencil you will find the actual pencil, the product. It’s a retractable pencil which means it’s one of those pencils you don’t have to sharpen, it just twists up. On the other end of the pencil you’ll find a little brow comb. It’s different from most brow brushes, but it works really nice.
Sephora has quite a wide colour selection when it comes to these eyebrow pencils, I was actually quite surprised by that. Because they had so many shades it was quite hard to find the one that would match my brows in the most natural way. I ended up going for 06 Soft Charcoal which is quite a dark brown pencil with a cool undertone. This shade did end up being a bit too dark for me, but if I use it with a light hand I can get away with it.
The Sephora Waterproof Retractable Brow Pencil claims a few things. According to Sephora it’s going to create a fuller looking, perfectly defined brow. Because the point is always sharp and the product is easy to hold it’s supposed to be perfect for creating perfect hair-like strokes. Seems quite promising doesn’t it.
I have to say that I’m quite impressed by the fact that the sharp point they claim this product has is actually sharp. It’s always sharp. I’ve used this pencil for quite some time now and I have to say it’s just always sharp. Well, sharp enough to create nice hair-like strokes on your face. I don’t know how they do it ’cause most of the time brands do struggle with that when they create retractable pencils like this one, but Sephora actually got it right.
Because the pencil itself is very small you can work really precisely with this product. It’s perfect if you’re someone who is slightly perfectionistic or just want to get their brows right. It actually reminds me a bit of the new Benefit Precisely Your Brow pencil.
Pigmentation wise I think this is a great product. It has the right amount of colour pay off and it spreads evenly. It won’t leave you with weird patches on your brows, which is definitely a good thing. I like how precise it is and how much control you have. It could be used to create both a strong or a natural brow with. It’s totally up to you.
When it comes to lasting time I have nothing to complain about. I like to set my brows with a brow gel and if you do so too this pencil will last all day. It will last all day without the gel as well but in that case your brow hairs might not stay in the way you want them to. If it’s really, really waterproof I’m not sure, but it won’t fade easily so it will definitely survive a bit of rain.
Overall I’m quite impressed by this Sephora brow pencil. It’s very easy to work with, it has a sharp point and it gives you so much control of what your brows are going to look like afterwards. I absolutely love that. I also love that it stays in place very well and that it’s not necessary to set it with a brow gel if you really don’t want to. This is definitely a product I’d recommend!
The Sephora Waterproof Retractable Brow Pencil is available at Sephora and online for €9,95.
That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which brow product is your current fave!
