Sephora Cream Lip Stain

13/09/2016

Normally I’m not a big fan of lip products that dry down and have a matte finish because they are just extremely uncomfortable to wear, but when my friend showed me this little beauty I just had to buy it. So, after testing it out for a while I figured it was time to tell the world about it. If you’re interested in finding out more about this product, make sure you continue reading!

The Sephora Cream Lip Stain comes in a pretty standard lipgloss packaging. It’s round, the plastic is clear and the lid is black and has the Sephora logo printed on it. The packaging itself is pretty basic and simple and slightly boring. There is not much going on and they didn’t put a lot of thought or effort into decorating it a little, but since it’s just the packaging I don’t think that’s such a crime.

The wand that comes with it is as basic as the packaging. It’s one of those typical slanted spongy applicators that come with pretty much every liquid lipstick or lipgloss. For me applicators like this work perfectly fine so I don’t mind it at all.

The colour I chose is this gorgeous rosy pink shade called 06 Pink Soufflé. For me this is the perfect everyday pink colour. It’s natural but not too natural and it will spice up your look a little without being too extreme. I think it’s a colour that will look good with lots of looks and I think it will look gorgeous on lots of different people. For me that’s a very important factor.

The reason why I usually don’t go for products like this one is because they are usually pretty dry and therefore rather uncomfortable and when they start to fade it always looks kinda funky and I’m not a person who touches up her lips so I will be walking around with funky looking lips all day, and that’s just not a look I’m going for.

To my surprise this product is significantly different from what I expected. It’s not the most moisturising product ever, I’m definitely not saying that, but it’s actually not that bad. It’s not annoying to wear. And because this is a stain and not a liquid lipstick it won’t look as funky when parts of the product start to fade since your lips will be slightly tinted in that colour as well.

So in my opinion this product is actually way better and way more comfortable to wear. Even if you’re not a huge fan of liquid lip products like myself, this is something you might actually enjoy wearing!

Sephora Liquid Lipstick Swatch

Pigmentation wise this product isn’t disappointing either. It’s full of pigment and even better: it’s equally as pigmented on every part of the lip, it’s not one of those blotchy lipsticks which is definitely a nice thing. The finish of the lip stain is really pretty too. It’s matte but it does have a slight healthy sheen to it, not much, but just a little tiny bit. I really like that about it.

The product is also very long lasting. It definitely survives a meal and a drink and it can handle a lot of talking too. On me it lasts about 5 hours which is pretty good for a product like this one!

Overall I think the Sephora Cream Lip Stain is quite a nice product. It’s not my number one choice kind of product, but if I want to wear something long lasting and not too uncomfortable, this is definitely a product I gravitate towards. I also really like the colour of it and I think the finish is absolutely stunning. I highly recommend giving it a shot!

The Sephora Cream Lip Stain is available in stores and online for €10,95.

That’s it for today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and let me know if you’re familiar with the Sephora brand!

XOXO, Nicole.
