A few weeks ago when I went shopping in Germany with my mom and my best friend I stumbled upon a really nice shampoo. I’m really, really picky when it comes to shampoo because my hair gets real greasy real quick. Throughout the years I found out silicones are the reason why my hair gets so greasy, so I decided to cut silicones out of my hair care routine. But finding silicone free shampoo’s isn’t as easy as you might think, so usually I just stick to what I’m using at the moment. But when I found this shampoo, I made an exception. It’s the Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Shampoo. If you’re interested in finding out how I liked it, make sure you keep on reading!
Let’s start this review off by taking a closer look at the packaging. This shampoo comes in a not too wide and not too long packaging. It contains about 250 ml of product, which is decent. The packaging is mainly white and has some pretty shiny purple details on it. I really like the look of it.
Overall I think the bottle looks really professional. Something about it makes me feel like this really is something you could buy at the hair salon. I don’t know if it’s actually true or not, but if someone would say so, I’d definitely believe it.
As I mentioned in the intro, I wash my hair with silicone free shampoo’s only. That because my hair gets real greasy when I do use silicones. I don’t know for sure why it is that way, I personally believe it’s because silicones create a smooth layer around your hair which makes it soft and shiny but also a bit heavier, which can make your hair look greasy.
This shampoo doesn’t have silicones in it, which kinda surprised me. It surprised me because it didn’t say anything about it on the bottle, I really had to scan through the ingredient list in order to find out. It’s not a big deal, it’s actually great that it’s silicone free, but I don’t really get why they aren’t advertising with it since I think it’s a great thing to advertise with.
On the front of the bottle it says that this is a volume shampoo and that it’s made for fine and flat hair, which is exactly what I have. My hair is super thin and flat and is incapable of having any type of volume or texture to it. For the most part I don’t mind that, but a bit more volume never hurts.
Sadly this shampoo doesn’t make a too big difference in that. It does add some type of volume to my hair and it definitely has a bit more texture to it, but it’s not like a major difference. However, I do really like the way my hair looks after using this. Even though it does create volume and texture, it’s not drying and it doesn’t make my hair feel like hay. And yes, that is a comparison I use, regularly.
Aside from the volume part there are two things to this shampoo that make it the best shampoo I’ve ever tried. The first thing being that this shampoo really cleans my hair. When I use this my hair feels incredibly clean and fresh and I really like that feeling. All of the grease and dirt you put in that day will be removed within a second when you use this shampoo.
The second reason why this shampoo is so amazing is because it smells absolutely incredible. Literally. You really have to go smell it. It smells like one of those shampoo’s they use at hair salons. It’s so nice. I like the way my beloved Syoss Volume shampoo smells, but this one is even more amazing. I love, love, love, love it!
Well, I think my message is clear. The Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Shampoo is absolutely incredible. It adds a bit of texture to the hair, it cleanses it really well and it smells absolutely incredible, and best of all: it doesn’t contain silicones. It’s literally everything I want in a shampoo in one bottle. I highly recommend giving it a try!
The Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Shampoo is available at the drugstore for €4,99.
That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review, and let me know which shampoo you enjoy using the most!
XOXO, Nicole

Lijkt me een erg fijne shampoo!
