Say Bye Bye To Your Undereye With The Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector

10/03/2017

Dark under eye circles have been one of my main skin concerns for as long as I can remember. I was born with a naturally dark under eye area so having enough sleep, drinking lots of water and all of those simple remedies have never made any difference for me. I’ve used tons of different eye creams, but nothing seems to work. Finally I came to the conclusion: if you can’t fix it, cover it up. So that’s what I started to do. About half a year ago I started experimenting with under eye correctors and today I’m going to review my newest buy, the Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector. If you’re interested in finding out whether or not this makes a difference for me, make sure you continue reading!

The Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector comes in a glass jar with a rosy coloured lid. The whole jar comes in a dark brown box and overall it feels and looks quite luxurious. The design of the jar is very similar to the design of the Maybelline Color Tattoo’s, but it has a bit more class and a bit more prettiness to it in my opinion. I really like the look of it and I like that it looks so luxurious. It’s a great packaging.

The packaging contains 4.5 grams of product. I think this is about average for a concealing type of product, but considering you pay about 30 Euro’s for a jar of this it’s actually kind of insane you only get 4.5 grams. However, you only need a little bit of product and since the product is in fact very blendable I do think this jar will last for quite some time.

The corrector comes in one shade which is the one I have, obviously. However, now that I’m typing this I remember I saw they recently added a more orangy corrector to their collection. I don’t know if that’s meant for the under eye area as well, but it’s there. Anyway, this product is light pink. All of the under eye correctors I’ve used before are yellow. The yellow ones are great for cancelling out brownish dark circles (according to what I’ve read about it), but in my experience it makes a difference for all under eye circles. According to the same source a salmon/pinky shade like this one should work for cancelling out dark circles on people with fair to medium skintones. For deeper skintones they say orange or red works better.

But before we jump into how well it cancels out my dark circles, let’s first take a step back and discuss the texture of the product. One of my main concerns when it comes to correctors is that they have to stay in place very well. I don’t want them to move whenever I apply a normal coloured concealer on top.

I also think it’s very important that a corrector like this one is easy to apply and especially easy to blend. Since the eye area is very sensitive I do think it’s important that I don’t have to pull hard on the skin in order to spread the product out. Luckily this concealer is very soft and smooth and easy to blend, which makes this product very friendly for the skin around your eye area.

When it comes to staying put I think this corrector does an absolutely incredible job. Even though it is very soft, smooth and easy to blend it still stays wherever you put it. It doesn’t move, it doesn’t slip and it doesn’t slide. It does exactly what you want it to do and it does that all day. I’m really impressed by that.

Now that we have properly discussed the texture, let’s move onto the effectiveness of the product. It was very hard to capture this product on camera, but I’ve tried my best. Because of the light reflecting on the product it seems like the area is still pretty dark, but in fact it’s not. This product makes a huge difference in how dark my under eye area is and I’m impressed by that.

The thing I’m most impressed by is how little you need to make such a huge difference. You only have to apply the slightest bit of product to you eye area and the dark circles are gone. Apply a bit of concealer on top and you’re good to go. It’s a pretty easy and fool proof product and I think it’s great to have in your collection. Especially if you suffer from dark circles like I do.

Overall this product has impressed me quite a bit. I did already like the way correctors work for me, but this one is even more impressive than any other corrector I have ever used. It cancels out the darkness very well and it stays put all day. If you ever want to give a corrector a try, I highly recommend going for this particular one. You won’t regret it!

The Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector is available at Sephora and Babassu for €25/€36.

That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know if you ever use something to correct your under eye area and if so let me know which product you like using for that!

XOXO, Nicole.
