A while ago I started getting more and more into cream blushes. I finally realised how amazing they are, how well they last and how gorgeous they can look. And from that moment onwards I’ve been collecting quite a few stick blushes. One of the blush sticks I bought is the Diorblush Cheek Stick in the shade Cosmopolite Pink. I’ve had it for quite a while now and I have been using it quite a lot for the past few months, which means that it’s time for me to review it. So, today I’m going to tell you everything these is to know about the gorgeous Diorblush Cheek Stick so if you want to read about that, I suggest you click the continue reading button!
Let’s start off by discussing the packaging. Like most Dior products this Cheek Stick comes in a gorgeous and elegant packaging. The outside is made out of dark blue plastic and along the bottom it has a pink stripe which represents the colour of the blush. Aside from the pink the only other decoration on the packaging is the name of the product which is written in silver. The shape of the Cheek Stick is really nice as well. It’s quite a short one, but it is a bit more on the thick side which looks really pretty in my opinion. Overall I’m a really big fan of the packaging. I think it looks incredibly elegant and luxurious and totally Dior.
Before I jump into any details regarding this blush stick I do want to mention that I believe this product is from an old limited edition collection and therefore it isn’t available anymore. However, Dior does have some blush sticks in their current collection that look a lot like this, which is also the reason why I still decided to review this stick even though the exact same thing isn’t available anymore.
Diorblush Cheek Stick in Cosmopolite Pink – €36
Having said that, let’s get into the review. The Diorblush Cheek Stick in the shade Cosmopolite Pink is a very fresh and girly coloured product. It has a rosy pink colour which is one of my favourite shades when it comes to blush. It does look quite bright on the pictures, and it definitely doesn’t look like the opposite of bright in real life, but it is a little bit more toned down in real life than it looks like in the picture. In real life it just looks like a fun pink colour that would give the cheeks a very pretty natural flush. I think it’s a colour that would look very flattering on a lot of skin tones which makes it even more perfect!
So, having discussed what the colour is like let’s start talking about the quality of this blush stick. Things I usually look for in blush sticks is that they have a very rich and creamy texture, that they are easy to blend, that they don’t instantly stain the cheeks in a way it ends up looking patchy, I like them to be very longlasting and the colour should be pigmented but still very natural looking. If a blush stick checks off al of those points I know it’s an amazing product, so let’s see if this stick checks off al of those points!
First things first, the texture. Like I said I like my blush sticks to be rich and creamy and very easy to blend. I don’t like them to stain my cheeks to much so it won’t look blotchy. This stick does check off all of those points, but in a unique way. When I say rich and creamy I mean smooth and soft. This stick definitely is very soft, but it’s not smooth in a way it’s more like a balm. To be honest I don’t mind that at all, I like that it’s more on the creamy side than on the balmy side, but that does mean that the texture is a bit thicker and therefore it feels a bit heavier on the skin than a more balmy stick would feel.
The blendability of this cream highlighter is amazing as well. Because the formula is a bit on the thicker side you do need to put in a tad bit of effort, but it doesn’t take much at all to get this blush to look nice and blended on the skin. It’s definitely a product you can apply in a hurry without having to worry about it not looking blended enough or looking too extreme. It’s very quick and easy to blend into perfection!
Pigmentation wise this Cheek Stick by Dior is very intense. It’s definitely one of the most intense blush sticks I have come across so far. Because of that I do think it’s wise to use this blush with a very light hand and don’t apply too much. Don’t apply a massive stripe across your cheeks, just dab the product onto your skin once, maybe twice and that’s definitely enough. I did use a lot on this picture so it would show up properly, but in real life I would definitely use a bit less so it looks more natural and wearable.
If you have applied a bit too much of it you can easily correct it by using a beautyblender to blend it in because that does take away a bit of the colour or if it’s really bad just go over it with a used foundation brush or even a dot of foundation if you really went all out.
The staying power of this blush is one of the most impressive features. I like cream (or stick) blushes a lot because of their incredible staying power and this one definitely isn’t an exception. Because you apply this before you set your face, it will not budge all day long. It stays in place as long as your foundation and concealer stay in place which means about 10 to 12 hours, depending on how long your day is. If that’s ins’t an impressive feature I don’t know what is!
Overall I’m just really impressed by this Diorblush Cheek Stick in Cosmopolite Pink. It has everything I want a blush stick to have and it also looks incredibly gorgeous on the skin. The colour is very wearable, versatile and perfect for pretty much every skin tone and the quality of the product is just amazing. It has the most amazing texture ever and it’s also extremely long lasting. I absolutely love it!
That’s pretty much it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and be sure to let me know what you think of this Diorblush Cheek Stick and also let me know which stick blush is your favourite!
