Just like last year and a lot of years before that, Rituals has launched a holiday collection. Their holiday collection of this year is called The Ritual Of Yalda and it’s a whole range with the scent of pomegranate and watermelon. Recently I already reviewed theĀ Rituals Ritual Of Yalda Body Cream and today it’s time for another Ritual Of Yalda review. Today I’m actually reviewing the shower foam. I got this for my birthday from my sister and I was really happy about that. Normally I’m not that crazy about shower foams in general, which is why I would’ve never bought it myself, but I did actually really want to try out this one. So, that’s exactly what I did. In today’s review I’m going to tell you guys all about it. If you’re interested in finding out what this Ritual Of Yalda Shower Foam is like, make sure you continue reading this post!
The Ritual Of Yalda Wishful Foaming Shower Gel comes in a very typically shaped shower foam packaging. It’s one of those air-tight bottles that are made out of aluminium or something like that. This makes it feel very cold, but I do like the sleek look of it. The bottle is decorated with a really pretty design made with blue and red colours. There are also some white accents and a bit of gold on it, but mainly blue and red. The bottle closes with a plastic lid. This is pretty much the only thing about the packaging I think they could amp up a little. I think that the bottle looks really, really pretty and all. Actually I think that it looks pretty luxurious. So why use a plastic cap. It adds a bit of a cheap look in my opinion.
When you take off the cap the pump will show. This is what helps to get the product out of the bottle. It’s quite a handy element. This does work pretty well for me, but the only thing about it what I don’t like is the fact that it does leak quite a bit of product after using it. Somehow some of the gel that still has to turn into foam leaves in the opening area and after using it, it slowly does turn into foam. Therefore you should make sure you clean this really well otherwise your whole cap will be filled with foam the next time you use this and that’s not that handy.

The Ritual Of Yalda range is a very fresh scent. The main ingredients in it -scent-wise- are pomegranate and watermelon. These are not the scent-ingredients I expected when I though about their holiday collection. You actually expect something warm and cozy right? However, even though this is a fresh scent, I still think that it’s very appropriate for this season. The scent is very luxurious and unique. It’s a lot different than I expected from Rituals but then again, they always seem to surprise me. It’s a very indulgent scent that makes me feel like a million dollar lady for a split second. I like that feel.
According to Rituals this foam is really easy to use. You just pump a bit of the product into your hand and when it comes in contact with water it should turn into foam. They emphasise that you only need a little bit of it. I do agree with that, but somehow I never manage to actually just take a little bit out of the bottle. Somehow it always turns into way too much. That’s not a big deal, but it is a waste of product. So beware of that. Don’t be too heavy handed with it.
Aside from the fact that it’s easy to use Rituals also lets us know that the foam is luxurious and that it should leave your skin feeling nice and soft and nicely perfumed.
Over all I do agree with the claims Rituals makes. Like I said I’m normally not super crazy about shower foams. I find that they are rather drying and I don’t like the fact that you smell the scent of the foam through the scent of the product. However, in this foam I’m not bothered by that so much. I actually really, really like this foam. I feel like the foam actually feels very rich. It’s not one of those scrubby, empty foams. You know, those that make you feel like there’s really nothing in them that can remotely hydrate your skin. I actually feel like this is pretty hydrating.
In addition to that I do really like the way it feels on the body. It does feel like it really cleans the skin more than a regular shower gel does. Obviously that’s just a placebo effect. We always think products work better when they start to foam and since this is already a foam it really does work with that sense. But whether it’s actually making a difference or not, I do really like the way it feels so no hard feelings on that.
I’m also very positively surprised by how well the scent lingers. I’m not really the one who wants a shower gel that’s going to perfume me for the rest of the day. But I wouldn’t hate it if my skin smells like it after taking the shower when I take a close sniff. This one actually enables that. It does really add a nice and clean fragrance to the skin. You can only smell it when you take a close sniff, but that’s enough for me.
All in all I’m positively surprised by this Rituals Ritual Of Yalda Wishful Foaming Shower Gel. I wasn’t a big fan of shower foams before but this one really made me change my mind about it a little bit. I still much prefer the shower oils from Rituals, but this shower foam in specific really surprised me. I love the way it feels on my skin and I love the scent. I think this is a really nice product. A great gift to a friend or to yourself!
With that being said I think it’s time to end today’s post. Thank you so much for reading it and be sure to let me know what your opinion is on the Ritual Of Yalda collection from Rituals!
