Rituals The Ritual Of Karma Sunscreen For Face SPF50

28/02/2019

Sunscreen is one of the most important beauty products in our routine. Whether you do or don’t wear makeup and whether you’re a guy or a girl, everyone needs to protect their skin from the sun. Including their face. And even during the winter months. The sun is always here (otherwise it would be pretty darn dark all day long) and it’s always harmful to the skin. For the longest time I’ve been using the Biodermal Mattifying Sun Fluid, but a while ago I all of a sudden felt like switching things up and I bought the Rituals Ritual Of Karma Sun Protection Face Cream with SPF 50. Today I’m going to review it for you guys, so if you want to know what it’s like, make sure you continue reading this post!

The thing that made me want to buy this Ritual Of Karma Sun Protection Face Cream is basically the packaging of it and the scent. Let’s start with the packaging. This Ritual Of Karma Sunscreen comes in a really pretty mint green tube with rose golden letters on it as well as darker mint letters. The bottle contains 50 ml and has a very sleek and pretty design. I think it looks very luxurious and pretty and I like the feel of it. It’s literally the first sunscreen I ever owned that looked actually pretty. I know that the prettiness isn’t all that important, but it still matters.

The Rituals Sun Protection Face Cream comes with 50 ml of product inside. I do think that this is a standard and decent amount to get in a product like this. It’s comparable to the amount of product you’d get in a moisturiser for the skin and it’s also similar to the amount of product you get in my other favourite facial sunscreen, the Biodermal Mattifying Sun Fluid with SPF 50.

All in all I think that the Rituals Ritual Of Karma Sun Protection Face Cream is absolutely stunning looking. The packaging feels nice and I absolutely love the colours they used. It has a decent size when it comes to the amount of product you get and the fact that it’s a tube makes this more hygienic.

Rituals Ritual Of Karma Sun Protection Face Cream SPF 50 – €15,-

The very first thing I noticed about this Rituals facial sunscreen is the fact that it has an amazing scent. If you’re familiar with the Ritual of Karma collection you might know this scent, but if you’re not, well, I practically can’t explain what it smells like. It’s such a unique combination of things. All I can say is that it’s summer and just really, really nice and luxurious smelling. It’s probably created with lots of perfume so you do have to keep that in mind if you’re sensitive to that, but otherwise, it’s amazing.

Okay, let’s take a look at the claims. According to Rituals their Sun Protection Face Cream will protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun with SPF50. It’s a rich and hydrating cream that supposedly sinks into the skin nice and quickly. It should provide advanced protection thanks to its powerful antioxidant complex with biological white tea, natural vitamin E and ginkgo biloba. This cream should protect you from premature aging of the skin caused by UVA and UVB-radiation and allow you to enjoy the sun safely.

All in all it does sound more like a combination of a moisturiser and a sunscreen for the face. If this is true I do like that a lot. It makes it easier to use SPF since you don’t have to add an extra step to your skincare routine. However, I personally do prefer using my regular moisturiser as well because that has its own benefits, and in that case you can perfectly use this as an additional step.

In terms of consistency I do think it’s pretty thick. Especially if you compare it to the more fluid sunscreen I normally like to use on my skin. This cream is a lot more rich and hydrating. I think that for oily skin, this would definitely be enough for your skin. You don’t necessarily have to moisturise as well. If you have really oily skin I do think that this might be a tad bit on the heavy side for you. It does sink in okay, but it’s definitely a rich formula.

I feel like this cream could act as a nice base for underneath your makeup. Sunscreens in general have a bit of a sticky feel to them, which makes the makeup cling onto it really well. I have to say that I do think that this isn’t the most sticky sunscreen in the history of sunscreens, but I do think it still acts as a nice primer or base for your makeup.

Whether or not it actually protects your skin really well is obviously hard to test. I bought this during autumn so I haven’t had the chance to test it in the bright sunlight. However, I don’t think it’s allowed to put SPF 50 on your tube if it isn’t going to act like one, so I’m sure this will work just fine!

All in all I think that the Rituals Ritual Of Karma Sun Protection Face Cream with SPF50 is absolutely amazing. It’s an incredibly nice smelling product and it feels really good on the skin. It has a thicker and more hydrating consistency than I’m used to, but I don’t hate that about it. I love how it makes my skin feel nice and soft while protecting it from the harmful rays of the sun. This is a really nice product and definitely something I’d recommend if you don’t mind the perfume in there!

That’s pretty much it for today. Thank you so much for reading today’s review and be sure to let me know which facial sunscreen you like using the most and why!

Deze is zo fijn! De geur is echt goddelijk. Gister met het mooie weer gebruikte ik mijn karma zonnebrand en ik waande mij gelijk in een tropisch paradijs door de geur. Love it!
