Rituals The Ritual Of Karma Shower Oil

15/07/2019

I don’t know if anyone has noticed it, but recently I have become quite a big fan of the Ritual Of Karma collection from Rituals. I don’t know what has happened to me. I mean, I liked it in the past, but I wasn’t crazy for it. And all of a sudden I can’t get enough of it. And if there’s one type of product I love from Rituals it’s their shower oils. I managed to get my hands on all of the available ones a couple months back. You might think that that means I have enough of them -and you’re right about that- but when I saw they now added a Ritual Of Karma Shower Oil to the collection I knew I had to buy it. So I did and today it’s time for the review. If you’re interested in finding out what it is like, make sure you continue reading this post!

Like all Rituals Shower Oils, the Ritual Of Karma Shower Oil comes in a basically stunning packaging. Well, not the most stunning one out of the bunch, but I like it. The bottle has a minty green colour, the theme colour of the Ritual Of Karma collection. I like it. It’s fresh, it’s bright, it’s fun and it reminds me of summer time. I’m not a summer-loving girl at all, but well, I do like the happy feeling that comes with it so let’s just enjoy it while we can shall we?The bottle is long and slim and has a little white pump on top. The part underneath the pump has a golden colour and I feel like that looks really pretty with the minty colour of the bottle.

In terms of design Rituals likes to keep things simple and I really do appreciate that. I mean this looks flippin’ good am I right?! It does always have an adorable little quote on it. This one says “do good, and good will come your way”. I definitely believe in karma so I like to be reminded of that every time I use this product. Haha, okay that’s a bit exaggerated. But I do think it’s cute and more people should keep that little sentence in mind.

Anyway, the Ritual Of Karma Shower Oil does come in a long and slim bottle and to me it does always look like there’s not much in here. It actually does come with 200 ml, which isn’t a crazy big amount but it’s not that bad either. I do feel like you don’t need much product per washing so for me these bottles are still rather longlasting.

Rituals The Ritual Of Karma Shower Oil 200 ml – €8,50

According to Rituals, their Ritual Of Karma Shower Oil smells like holy lotus and organic white tea. I don’t know what holy lotus is, but to me this combination smells really good. Rituals tells us that holy lotus is the symbol of purity, beauty and wisdom. It is known for its soothing and caring properties. The organic white tea is a lightly oxidised tea grown and harvested primarily in Chine. They tell us that more recently, it is grown in eastern Nepal, northern Thailand, southern Sri Lanka and India. They are really specific with these places. White tea gives the perfume a fresh, clean and green fragrance with a slight flowery accord. White tea is said to sharpen the senses.

I do think that whole description sounds pretty vague. In my opinion the Ritual Of Karma scent is a little spicy with a floral and fresh base. You can definitely smell that there’s something fresh and floral in there and that’s my favourite part of the scent. The spiciness does make it more unique and more Rituals like. It’s a very likeable but unexpected scent. It’s something unique and something I haven’t smelled before.

In terms of usage, I do really like shower oils. They are much more true to their scent (which means that you don’t smell for example the smell of the actual ‘foam’ through it, like in shower foams) and they are nice and hydrating on the skin. Surprisingly enough this shower oil does really give you that clean feeling, even though it’s not as foamy as a regular shower gel is. To me this is just a very luxurious feeling product, something unique and something really nice. It’s gentle on the skin and doesn’t leave you feeling as dry as you normally would after using (heavily perfumed) shower gel.

All in all I do think that the Ritual Of Karma Shower Oil is a great addition to my already existing shower oil collection. It’s one of my favourite scents from Rituals at the moment. It’s fresh, it’s floral and it has something spicy to it. I think it’s really unique and perfect for summer. It’s one of my current favourites.

And with that being said I think I’m going to end today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it and be sure to let me know if you have any experience with a shower oil from Rituals!
