To be completely honest with you guys, for the longest time I had no idea Rituals had a huge haircare range. I knew they had a little something, but it’s not just a little something anymore. They have haircare products of most of their scent-ranges and that is something very interesting to me. For a while now, I’ve been a pretty big fan of the Ritual of Karma collection. So when I noticed they did a haircare duo of that scent I knew I had to get it. So I ended up buying both the shampoo and conditioner from the Ritual of Karma collection. I’ve been using it for over two months by now, so I think it’s about time for a proper review. If you’re interested in finding out more about these haircare products, make sure you continue reading this post!
Let’s not waste any time and immediately start off with the Rituals The Ritual Of Karma Shampoo. The shampoo comes in an absolutely gorgeously designed bottle. The bottle has a minty green colour and the top part is golden. This combination looks really stunning to me. The design on the packaging is very simple as well. It’s very minimalistic and I think that makes it look super chic. It has all of the essential information on it and nothing more or less than that.
To be completely honest with you guys, I had no idea what kind of shampoo this was going to be going in. All I knew is that it’s free of silicones and that’s about it. When it arrived I decided to take a little bit of a closer look at what this shampoo is supposed to do.
According to Rituals their Ritual of Karma Shampoo is an intensely hydrating shampoo that adds shine and moisture to the hair. It’s supposed to be a colour protectant shampoo and because of the Vitamin E in here, it’s supposed to protect your hair from the sun as well. I don’t know the ins and outs about how that all works, but I’ll try to believe them.

Having read about the fact that this is a hydrating shampoo, I’m not that sure anymore that it’s my thing. I mean, I like a good hydration, but I have pretty thin and easily greasy hair. But fair enough, I gave it a proper chance.
In terms of formula this shampoo is really nice. The shampoo has a bit of a pearly white colour to it and it smells really good. It really is like a normal shampoo in gel-form, but just a bit more nourishing. I feel like it’s not that foamy thanks to that. But in the end it does create enough foam for you to feel like you’ve really washed your hair properly. I just think you need a bit more product than usual to get there. On the other hand: foam does not mean that your hair has been properly washed so you might as well not try to reach that point and still have nice and clean hair without using a ton of product.
After washing my hair with this shampoo it feels incredibly soft and smooth. My hair is clearly more nourished than it has ever been and, strangely enough, it’s not even greasy or anything like that. I do feel like it’s not a shampoo I used use every single time I wash my hair. But every once in a while it will give my hair a great pick-me-up. And the scent you guys, it’s A-MA-ZING! This shampoo has such a luxurious and chic scent. I love it when my hair smells like it!
Having discussed the shampoo, let’s move on to the Ritual Of Karma Conditioner. The conditioner actually comes in quite a different packaging than the shampoo does. Not just in shape, but also in colour. The conditioner-tube has way more of a blue colour rather than a mint green. And in terms of shape the conditioner comes in a tube rather than a bottle. I do prefer the look of the shampoo bottle to be honest with you guys. But then again, I’m fine with the way the conditioner looks too though. It’s not bad or anything like that.
Considering the fact that the shampoo from this range is aimed at hydrating the hair and adding shine to it, as well as protecting coloured hair and offering protection against the sun, the conditioner will do pretty much the same thing.
Both the shampoo and conditioner from this range contain argan oil and shikakai. I don’t know what that last word even means, but argan oil I do know and that’s a really nice ingredient to have in your haircare products. Aside from that their haircare is free of SLS, SLES, sulfates, parabens and silicones and I think that’s a pretty good thing. Silicones make my hair super heavy and greasy so I’m glad there are more options in the silicione-free field nowadays.

The tube in which the conditioner comes is much softer than you’d expect. And with soft I mean that it’s super squishy. I don’t really know another way to describe it. The tube is just not that firm. Thanks to that you can get an idea of what the formula of this conditioner is like. It feels quite lightweight and thin. To be honest, that’s definitely not what I’d expect in a hydrating conditioner. But I don’t mind it at all.
Like expected the conditioner indeed has a rather thin formula. Thanks to this it’s super easy to spread across the hair. A little bit of product goes a very long way. Just like the shampoo, the conditioner has a great luxe and summery scent. I really like the scent of the Karma range from Rituals. It’s so unique and enjoyable.
In terms of quality I do feel like this conditioner is really rocking it. It’s in fact really hydrating and it makes my hair so incredibly soft. I do notice a real big difference when it comes to how easy it is to comb through my hair after I’ve used this shampoo. I also feel like those effects last longer compared to a regular conditioner, so that’s a big plus as well.
All in all I’m really impressed by now nice these Rituals haircare products are. To be honest, I thought they would just smell nice and that’d be it. But I was wrong about that. These are some very proper products. The shampoo is super hydrating, yet it doesn’t make my hair greasy. And the conditioner I like even more. It’s nice and lightweight, but it does add the amount of moisture my hair needs to be soft, supple and easy to work with. I really like these products a lot!
And with that being said I think it’s time to end today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it and be sure to let me know what you think of the Rituals haircare products!
