A while ago I read about the Rituals Ritual Of Holi collection and to my surprise this collection came with two bath bombs. It’s something I hadn’t seen a lot from Rituals before, so it totally got me excited. Especially since I’m kind of a bathing queen these days, so well, I can use some. I ended up getting the Ritual Of Holi You’re The Bomb! Bath Bomb. It’s pink and blue and it does look very promising. I have to admit that I don’t have great experiences with non-Lush bath bombs, but I was willing to give this one a proper try. So, long story short: if you’re interested in reading more about this little guy. Make sure you continue reading this post!
The Rituals You’re The Bomb Fizzing Bath Bomb from the Ritual Of Holi collection comes in a disc-shaped packaging. It’s decorated with splashes of colour shaped like powder. On the top it’s purple and towards the bottom of the packaging this slowly turns pink. It’s a very pretty design and I do like it. It’s playful, colourful and pretty. What’s not to like about it right?!
Inside the disc is a plastic ball shaped packaging, holding and protecting the bath bomb. It’s actually fairly difficult to get the bath bomb out of this packaging, since it’s super, super strong. It literally took me five minutes to get the thing open and I ended up hurting my finger with a piece of sharp plastic that was sticking out. So the message that needs to be send is that you should be very careful while getting this bath bomb out of its packaging.
All in all this bath bomb does look pretty darn cool. I really like the colours on the packaging and from what it looks like, this is going to be a very pretty bath bomb. I’m really curious what it smells like and what it will look like in the tub!
Rituals The Ritual Of Holi You’re The Bomb Fizzing Bath Bomb – €4,90
In terms of price I don’t think the You’re The Bomb Bath Bomb is too pricy. Compared to Lush, it’s actually rather affordable considering the large size of it. It weight a whopping 170 grams. And you can feel that. But before we go on about that, let’s start discussing the scent. Because one of the most important things about a bath bomb is definitely its scent.
According to Rituals the You’re The Bomb Fizzing Bath Bomb smells like flamingo flower and pink grapefruit. They describe the scent as sweet as sugar. The flamingo flower is supposed to smell exotic and the pink grapefruit should add a refreshing scent to the bomb. I do agree with that description. I actually really loved the scent of it. It wasn’t extremely strong or whatever, but it was definitely nice. It was unique and not cheap smelling. Definitely something I’d like the smell more often. Very sweet but also soft and lightly refreshing. A great combination for this time of year!
Aside from the scent, Rituals has some other things they talk about in their claims. They say that this bath bomb is going to be very fun and colourful and they claim that it’s going to be softening for the skin. That last part is the main thing I’m excited about. Looking at the bomb, I did expect it to be colourful. But the softening part is always welcome in my bath.
Having discussed all of that good stuff, let’s talk about what this bomb is like in the tub. I popped it in and it immediately started to fizz. The first thing I noticed is that this is a very slow fizzer. Like really slow. I take quite long baths these days and it took the bomb almost my entire bath to fully fizz. I would say it took about 15 to 20 minutes. I mean I like a slow fizzer, but this is a bit too much of the good stuff.
Another thing I quickly noticed after popping the bomb into the bath is that it sunk. It sinks to the bottom of the bath immediately and it stays there throughout its entire process. You can actually hear it fall onto the floor, so be careful when you’re popping it into your bath. Don’t throw it in, you might damage your tub! The fact that it sinks is a bit disappointing to me. You can’t really tell what it’s doing down there.
Once in the bath it first starts to shoot blue and pink colour into the bath. It does create nice patterns, but on a small scale. After a couple of seconds the blue stops and pink will take over. In the end you’ll end up with a deep pink, purply colour. I really like the colour it ends up to be. It kind of reminds me of the Lush Lord Of Misrule Bath Bomb. It’s really interesting. This Rituals bomb doesn’t contain any glitter so you can’t see that floating around. For me that’s a positive thing because it means I don’t have to scrub my tub after bathing in it!
While the bath bomb is doing its thing, it also spurts out soft, creamy layers of baby pink colour. This floats around the tub and that’s the hydrating part of the bath bomb. You can definitely tell that this does something for your skin, since my skin ended up feeling really soft after bathing in this bath bomb.
All in all I do like the way the bath looks when the bomb is done fizzing. The colour is pretty and the water feels moisturising. The only downside is the fact that the scent isn’t super strong. It’s really nice, for sure, but it’s not that strong. You can barely smell it after a couple of minutes.
All in all I have to say that I’m not disappointed in the Ritual Of Holi You’re The Bomb Fizzing Bath Bomb from Rituals. I don’t have great experiences with bath bombs from other brands than Lush, but this one didn’t disappoint at all. Okay, it did sink to the bottom and the scent isn’t extremely strong. But putting that aside I definitely enjoy the time I had with this bath bomb. The smell is amazing and unique and the colours are stunning. And in addition to that, it’s also nice and moisturising! It’s not the best in the bizz, but I’m sure I’ll buy it again some day!
With that being said I think I’m done talking for today. Thank you guys so much for reading today’s review, and be sure to let me know which non-Lush bath bombs you like!
Great post and totally useful info! We’re having a baby soon and kind of overwhelmed by all the planning and no idea what we actually need. Thanks!
