As I’ve been telling you throughout the past couple of weeks, lately I’ve been updating my skincare routine. I’ve been buying new products and adding new things to my everyday routine. One of the first products I bought when I started updating my skincare routine was the Rituals The Ritual Of Namaste Skin Brightening Face Exfoliator. On the website it said that this was going to be a nourishing exfoliator and I wanted to see what that was all about. I ended up ordering it and I’ve been using it ever since. Today I felt like it was about time for me to review it. So if you’re interested in finding out what this exfoliator is like and whether or not it’s actually nourishing, make sure you continue reading this post!
Okay, let’s start off with the usual: talking about the packaging. The Rituals Namaste Skin Brightening Exfoliator comes in a really pretty and sereen looking tube. Sereen might be a bit of an odd word to describe the look of a packaging with, but I do think it’s very fitting. The tube in size is pretty small. That’s definitely not a bad thing. An exfoliator like this shouldn’t be used daily and you only need a little bit of it, so it’s obvious that you don’t get a large amount of product. So when it’s packaged compactly I don’t hate it. The bottle comes with 75 ml of exfoliator which I think is really decent.
Anyway, what I think makes the tube look so sereen is the calmness it shows. The colours used aren’t bright and flashy. They are very toned down and relaxed looking. The tube itself is white and the letters on it are grey and silver. That in combination with the golden cap. I think the overall look is just really pretty and luxurious. Definitely a packaging I love to look at.

On the back of the tube Rituals provides some information regarding how you should be using the product. They let us know that you have to apply it to wet face and neck. You have to gently massage it into the skin and rinse with lukewarm water. That sounds like a very easy process, but it doesn’t give us much information besides that. On the internet I did find some info about what this product should do. They say that it’s supposed to create a clear complexion in a second. The scrub should be a gently way to cleanse and exfoliate the skin and therefore it’s supposedly an absolute must in every ‘soulful’ skincare routine. They say that the scrub should be used 1-2 times a week for a deeply cleansed skin with a fresh and radiant complexion.
All in all it sounds to me like this is a great addition to my skincare routine. Especially the part where they claim that this is a gentle product really caught my attention. I actually bought this through the Douglas website, on which they said that this was also supposed to be a bit hydrating. Hydrating and an exfoliator, the seemed like magic to me. However, I was willing to give it a shot and see for myself whether that’s true or not.
Well I have to say that this exfoliator impressed me quite a bit. I was hesitant about it at first because my experience with exfoliators isn’t that great. They tend to make my skin feel very dry and tight. I feel like they really strip my oily skin and that’s not a good thing to me. However, this product was the opposite of that. First of all it has a really amazing texture. The scrubbing particles in this exfoliator are very, very tiny. Therefore it’s not going to be a very harsh and rough scrub. It’s actually going to be very sensitive and nice to the skin. The experience of using a mild scrub like this is very different as well. It’s way more pleasant feeling.
As a result of the texture, my skin feels really soft after using it. I can definitely tell that my skin has been exfoliated properly. Texture is gone and my skin feels smoother than it ever did. However, it doesn’t feel sensitive or tight afterwards. It doesn’t feel like it took away too much of my skin, and that’s really nice. It might sound very obvious, but a lot of exfoliators get that part terribly wrong. Trust me!
Because of the great exfoliation, this product does leave my skin looking way more radiant and smooth than it looked before. I feel like it really has some sort of stunning natural glow to it thanks to this product. It makes my complexion look visibly smoother and that’s perfect for applying your makeup on top of. It goes on so much easier now!
What surprised me most about this exfoliator is the fact that it’s actually hydrating. At first I was very suspicious about that claim. All that I expected was for it maybe to not make my skin feel super tight. But to my surprise it did much more than that. It actually feels like you’ve used a moisturiser after using it. It doesn’t leave some sort of greasy layer or anything, just a hydrating feel. And I actually feel like that’s not just a layer, but it’s real. It really does add moisture to the skin. I feel that way because even after a couple of hours my skin still feels incredibly smooth and hydrated.
Because of the hydrating effect I think this isn’t just a great exfoliator for normal to combination to oily skin, but also for more sensitive skin types. I do understand that using scrubs and all might be very tricky on more dry skin types, considering the fact that they can be very harsh even on oily skin types. But because of the mildness of the scrubbing particles and the fact that it’s so hydrating, I’m pretty sure that it could work for more dry and sensitive skin types as well.
All in all the Rituals The Ritual Of Namasté Skin Brightening Face Exfoliator really surprised me. I did expect it to be a nice product, otherwise I wouldn’t have bought it, but I didn’t expect it to be this good. I mean it really does do amazing things for my skin. The scrub is very mild and therefore it is really nice and gentle on the skin. It’s also very hydrating and all in all in makes my skin feel and look really radiant and smooth. It actually makes a different, visually as well as in the quality of my skin. Therefore I do really love this product and I recommend giving it a try if you are in need of a great exfoliator that is mild and hydrating. I think it’s great for literally all skin types, from oily to dry.
With that being said I think it’s time to end today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know what you think of the Rituals skincare products!
