A couple of months ago I discovered the beauty of the Rituals Shower Oils. I tried one and ended up buying the entire collection. I was planning on reviewing them much sooner but I just haven’t gotten around to it any sooner. I have so much stuff I still want to review! Anyway, recently I’ve been using this specific shower oil quite a lot so I felt like writing a review about it. So, today I’m going to be talking about the Rituals Fortune Oil Shower Oil. If you are interested in reading about everything I have to say about this gorgeously smelling product, make sure you continue reading this post!
First things first, packaging. The Rituals Shower Oils all come in these slim plastic bottles with a pump on top. Depending on the scent some of the bottles are made out of clear plastic and some aren’t clear. This one is clear and has an orange tint to it, which matches with the rest of the Laughing Buddha collection from Rituals. I do really like how this bottle is designed. Even though it’s made from rather affordable materials, materials than could look cheap if you use them differently, this bottle still looks very luxurious to me. I don’t know if it’s because of the rose golden part around the pump or because of the shape of the bottle, but I’m just a huge fan of the way the bottle looks. It’s very pretty!
One thing I do think Rituals should improve when it comes to their packaging is the pump situation. The pump doesn’t lock. Okay it does come with a little plastic thingy that you can put on it so you can’t accidentally pump product out of the bottle, but I don’t think that’s the most convenient way to lock a pump bottle like this one. Why doesn’t it just lock when you turn the pump to the side like in most pump bottles?
Rituals Laughing Buddha Fortune Oil Shower Oil – €8,50
Okay enough nagging about the packaging, let’s move on to what’s inside. According to Rituals their Laughing Buddha collection brings happiness and is a symbol of good luck and prosperity. In other words it’s supposed to be a happy and cheerful collection of products and I agree with that. The scent of the product is characterised by sweet orange and cedar wood. It’s a combination I have heard of before, but still Rituals manages to create a scent with these two ingredients that is so unique, you instantly know it’s Rituals. Really, it’s such a distinct scent. I can actually recognise it from miles away. And that’s what makes this scent so unique. It’s just like nothing else you have ever smelled before.
Moving on to the claims regarding the product itself. According to Rituals this is a caring shower oil that turns into a satin-like foam which makes your skin feel incredibly soft. This shower oil is also supposed to help you keep on your tan longer and it’s supposed to nourish and hydrate the skin while showering, so you won’t lose as much pigment. This way you can enjoy your summery tan longer.
All together they make it sound like this product is aimed at summer and keeping on your tan. I wish I would tell you guys whether those claims were true or not, but sadly my skin doesn’t tan at all, and without a tan I can’t tell you anything about keeping on a tan for longer.
What I can tell you is whether it actually nourishes and hydrates the skin and if it’s a nice product to use underneath the shower. For the longest time I didn’t want to try these shower oils from Rituals because I thought they would be difficult to use and not as convenient as a shower gel is. I won’t say that I now completely disagree with that statement, however, I do think it’s not as much of a hustle to use as I used to think. It’s actually pretty nice. You just pump a bit of product onto your hands, I usually use two to three pumps, and you can distribute it all over your body like you normally would. Because this is a little more fluid than a shower gel is you do have to be careful not to spill a lot of product, but aside from that it’s pretty easy to use.
You can also use it with one of those shower puffs, that works pretty much fine as well, but I do think that using it with your hands works a little better when it comes to this product.
What I do really like about this shower oil is that it feels much more hydrating on the skin than a shower gel does. It feels so soft and silky and that’s just a really nice sensation. Because it is an oil you might think that it will feel very greasy on your skin or just unpleasant, but I can promise you that it doesn’t. It isn’t a greasy oil. It just feels very soft and smooth and it actually leaves the skin feeling way more hydrated than it ever would if you’d be using a normal shower gel.
Overall I think that the Rituals Laughing Buddha Fortune Oil Shower Oil is an amazing product. I absolutely love the scent. It’s very distinct and unique and I like that about it. I also really love the way that this product feels on my skin. It’s such a nice sensation massaging this onto your skin. It also leaves my skin feeling way more hydrated and nourished than it ever would if I’d be using a regular shower gel so overall I definitely think it’s worth it getting one of these shower oils from Rituals. They are a delight!
That’s it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know what you think of this Laughing Buddha Fortune Oil Shower Oil and if you have any experience with the Rituals Shower Oils!
