Not too long ago I received an email from Rituals telling me they were about to launch a very exclusive collection. The Amsterdam collection. And being the Dutchie that I am, I knew I needed to get my hands on these products. I mean, Rituals is a Dutch brand and that already makes me proud. But having Rituals products in a Dutch themed packaging, well that’s just absolute goals to me. So, when I found out the collection launched I immediately decided to buy a couple of products from the range, including the Rituals Amsterdam Collection Body Cream. In today’s post I’m going to be reviewing it. So if you’re interested in finding out more about this body cream, make sure you continue reading this post!
The Rituals Amsterdam Collection Body Cream comes in an absolutely stunning looking packaging. It’s so much different from what Rituals normally does and I definitely appreciate that. The jar is matte white and has a blue design on it. The lid is golden and I think that matches really well with the colour scheme that is going on here. I think they did a great job at creating a really luxurious looking vibe on their packaging. And obviously the blue design does resemble the Netherlands really well so that’s cool too.
If I had to mention one complaint about this body cream, it has to be the price. I know that prices go up throughout the years and that you can’t expect something to stay at the same price forever. But Rituals is going hard with their body creams these days. I feel like every new limited edition collection gets even more expensive than the last one. Back in the days these body creams were like only €15 a pop. This one is actually €19,50 while the other body creams they do are now €18,50. You might think that it’s only a one Euro difference, but still. The price increase is going pretty quick if you ask me.
Anyway, if you buy this body cream you’ll receive 220 ml of product. That is a reasonable amount, all though it’s not a lot. I do always feel like if you heavily use your Rituals body cream, it doesn’t last all that long. I don’t know if that’s just me being a big user or it’s because of something in the formula. But I go through these tubs quickly.

The Rituals Amsterdam Collection scent is very settle and nice. The main scent notes are tulip and Japanese yuzu. I do like the tulip, since that’s a flower that does remind me of the Netherlands. The Japanese yuzu is something completely new to me. But according to my boyfriend that smells pretty good so all in all, it’s a good scent.
If I had to describe the scent in my own words I’d say it’s a fresh florally scent. I do really smell the tulip in there. A freshly grown tulip. I looked up the Japanese yuzu and it’s a citrus scented fruit. I do smell that in the product along with other exotic smelling fruits or flowers. It’s a very unique scent and in my opinion it doesn’t smell anything like other Rituals product. To be honest, this is the least Rituals-like smelling scent Rituals has ever made in my opinion. And that’s definitely not a bad thing.
All in all I’m a big fan of the scent of this new collection. I love how settle it is and how unique it is. I think it’s a great Spring scent because of the fresh flower in there. I also think that in a way it’s a very calming scent. It’s nothing too crazy but it is something completely new.
In terms of formula I’m really impressed by this body cream. The formula on the different body creams from Rituals do differ from time to time. Some are more heavy and hydrating and some are more creamy. But this formula is different than that. It’s definitely rich and creamy and super hydrating. But on the other hand it does feel lightweight and especially very silky smooth. It’s like there is actual silk in here.
I was really surprised by how nice this body cream felt when I was massaging it onto my skin. It goes on like a dream. It spreads really easily and it leaves behind this silky feeling soft layer that makes your skin feel so darn good. I am super impressed by that. Even if this wasn’t a special collection or a very unique scent, I’d still buy it for the great formula.
In terms of being hydrating I think this body cream has got it all. It’s super hydrating, just like most Rituals body creams are. They are definitely more heavy than, say, a body yogurt. But they do a lot more for the skin. I also think it feels very luxurious and over all it creates a great experience.
All in all I am mind blown by how much I like this Rituals Amsterdam Collection Body Cream. I really wanted to have it because it’s such a unique and cool collection. But I had no idea that I was actually going to fall in love with this product as much as I actually did. I mean, the scent is just incredible and the formula is even better. It’s such a luxurious and silky feeling product. I can’t get enough of it. Really guys, get it while you still can!
And that brings us to the end of today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading today’s review and be sure to let me know what you think of this new Rituals Amsterdam Collection!
Wat een prachtige verpakking! Dat blauwe en gouden gaan zo goed samen! ♥ Ik ben blij dat ik geen Nederlander ben of ik had de gehele collectie moeten kopen.
