A while ago lots of bloggers reviewed the Rimmel London Colour Rush Lipbalms. Some of those reviews were positive, others weren’t, but I was certain that I had to try at least one myself too. So that’s exactly what I did. I went to the store, picked up two since there was a sale going on, and I gave them a try. Today I’ll be reviewing both of them. If you’re interested in finding out whether I ended up liking them or not, keep on reading!
Let’s immediately start off with the first colour called On Fire. On Fire is, clearly, a bright red colour. Even though I usually don’t wear a lot of red lip colours, I still really wanted this one. The main reason being that this is called a balm, so in that case it could be a little sheer and therefore be pretty wearable.
The packaging it comes in is pretty cool in my opinion. It’s in the same red colour as the balm itself, it has shiny silver letters all over it and it’s twistable so there’s no need to sharpen this thing. I love that!
When I applied it I did pretty quickly find out that my whole “it’s a balm so it’s probably not that opaque” theory was all kinds of wrong. This is in fact one of the most pigmented crayon/balm products I have tried so far. The great thing is however, that even though it’s super pigmented, it’s still very light weight, smooth, moisturising and comfortable to wear. It’s basically perfect.
Besides all those great things, it also stays in place for quite a long time. These balms stay in place for about 4 to 5 hours, it’s literally insane. I’m impressed!
The other colour I bought is called Give Me A Cuddle. Give Me A Cuddle is a very sweet, candy pink colour. On the picture it appears a little more pink than it is in real life, in real life it’s a little more on the nude side. Because of the colour of the packaging I really got my hopes up. Even though I know that most pink’s like this end up not being the perfect nude pink, I still hoped this one would be it.
Besides the pretty colour, there’s something else I really like about this balm. It stood out to me the first time I opened it. I’m talking about the scent. This product has a very nice, but settle, scent to it. It’s a bit like vanilla. Even though I’m normally not a huge fan of the scent of vanilla, I do like this scent.
As you can tell, this balm is as pigmented as the red one is. Besides the pigmentation you can tell that it has a really nice finish and this this one, just like the other one I own, is super comfortable to wear. I really love that about it. Colour wise I was slightly disappointed by the fact that the colour didn’t end up being the perfect nude pink. But even though it isn’t, I still love the look of it.
Over all I think these Rimmel Colour Rush Balms are quite amazing. They didn’t blow my mind, but they did exceed my expectations. I’m really glad I added them to my collection and I highly recommend them if you’re looking for a pigmented yet comfortable and easy to use lip product!
