About 3 or 4 months ago my boyfriend made me the most delicious thing ever: Mexican burrito’s. I’ve never eaten anything like it since I’m quite a picky eater and I don’t like trying things that look different from the things I usually eat, but I ended up loving it. Today I wanted to share the recipe of this delicious meal. It might be very simple, but it’s incredibly delicious and so worth the try! If you’re interested in finding out how to make these tasty burrito’s, make sure you continue reading!
First of all, let’s discuss the ingredients:
- Olive oil
- 1 Big onion or 2 small ones
- 2 Paprika’s
- 2 Red peppers
- 300-500 grĀ ground beef
- 1 bag of Tex Mex Burrito seasoning (but you could use 2 if you like to make it extra spicy)
- Wraps
Now that we’ve discussed that, let’s move on to the recipe!
Step 1. Chop all onions, peppers and paprikas into small pieces. It’s up to you how small you want them to be. As long as they’re cut into pieces it’s all fine.
Step 2. Once that’s done you can start cooking. Put some olive oil in a pan and after a minute or two add the onion.
Step 3. When the onion starts getting crispy add the ground beef. Stir this through the pan till all pieces are nice and brown.
Step 4. When you notice that there’s a lot of moist in the pan, add the bag(s) of seasoning. Stir through the pan and make sure all pieces of beef are covered in seasoning. If you’re making burrito’s for a big group of people definitely make sure you use multiple bags of seasoning!
Step 5.Ā Once everything is covered in seasoning you can start adding the peppers and the paprika’s. Stir them through the pan and make sure the pieces of vegetable are divided nice and evenly throughout the pan.
That’s basically what you have to do to make the inside of the burrito. But of course you do want to put that mixture into a wrap and those need to be dealt with too.
You can heat up the wraps in two different ways:
- You could either put them in a pan, one by one, using a bit of olive oil. This way they won’t stay as hard and they will get nice and soft which is what I personally prefer.
OR
- You could heat them up in the microwave. You can put as many wraps as you want on a plate and start microwaving them as long as the packaging says you have to. They will end up being a little more crisp than when you heat them up in a pan, but they’re still really nice and it saves a lot of time!
And once you’ve done that put the mixture inside the wrap, roll it up and you’re good to go! How easy is that?! It’s so quick and simple, you can add everything you want to give it your own twist and it’s super tasty.
I hope you enjoyed reading today’s recipe and let me know if you ever make Mexican burrito’s!
XOXO, Nicole.
