One of the products that came in my October LF Beautybox was this Polàar lip balm. It looked incredibly adorable and very wintery to me and I was super excited to give it a try. Today I’m going to review it. So, if you’re interested in finding out more about this product, make sure you continue reading!
Like I said in the little intro, I think the packaging of this product is a-dor-able. I mean look at it. Isn’t it the most wintery looking little tube. I’ve never seen anything like it and I love that about it. The only little downside about the packaging is the lid. It might not show that well on camera but in real life that feels kind of cheap, like a lid from children’s glue. But if we ignore that, it’s just the most adorable thing ever and I love it.
The size of the tube is perfect. It contains 10 ml of product which is quite a lot and it’s small enough to fit into your bag and not take in way too much space.
I’ve never heard of the brand Polàar before, but after doing some research online I found out that Polàar is a brand inspired by cold areas like Lapland. Like that’s not a completely accurate description of what it is, but it’s my interpretation of it. They make creams and stuff that are intensely moisturising to help restore and protect your skin from the cold. I think it’s a very unique brand I think it deserved more attention.
But enough about that, onto the actual product. After reading what I just told you guys I expected quite a lot from this lip balm. If it’s supposed to rescue you from chapped lips in Lapland, imagine what it would do in a country where it’s not freezing.
I have to say that I’m not disappointed by it. The texture of the lip balm is something that surprised me quite a bit at first because it’s quite a heavy and thick product. It kinda feels like a thick gel that just came out of the freezer. It’s not necessarily a bad thing that it’s that thick, but if you don’t like having thick products on your lips you’re not going to like this product.
For me it does work really well. Because it’s so thick it moisturises the lips very well and it keeps them in the most perfect condition. I have pretty dry lips and this product managed to get back some moisture into them, which I think is pretty incredible. No it’s not the most comfortable lip balm to wear, but it’s a great product and I truly believe it makes a difference.
Overall I’m quite a big fan of this lip balm. The packaging is adorable, the brand has a great back story and the product works really well for me. I’m really glad I got to try this product and that I got the chance the discover this brand thanks to my subscription to the LF Beautybox! I really, really enjoy this product!
The Polàar The Genuine Lapland Cream Lip Balm is available at Lookfantastic for €8,95 (15gr).
And that concludes today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which lip balm is your current favourite!
XOXO, Nicole.
