Recently I finally bought something I have been wanting to buy for years now: a Moleskine Agenda. Moleskine planners are like the best of the best in planner world if you ask me and I love the super stylish look they have. The reason why I didn’t buy one before is because they are rather expensive and I tend to forget to look in my agenda after a while. But when I saw this on a massive discount I couldn’t resist, so I bought it. I know it’s a bit random to do a review on a planner, but to be honest, I’d look for one if I were to decide on whether or not to buy a Moleskine so well, I’m just going for it. And in addition to that I’m just really excited about it. Okay, without further ado, make sure you continue reading this post.
The Moleskine agendas/planners/diaries, however you want to name them, have a very sleek and fancy design. They do come in a few colours but the most classic one is their black version. The cover of the planner is made out of a strong material and has a leather look to it. It’s very sleek and there’s not much to it. When you first get it, there’s a little paper wrap around the planner which you should remove after opening it. This wrap can be re-used and made into a calendar. There are instructions on how to do that, but I didn’t manage to get it done just yet.
The weight of the Moleskine is pretty nice. It does have a proper hefty feel in a way it feels nice and fancy, but it’s not something you can weight-lift with. There are actually a ton of different sizes available and therefore the weight will also depend on the size. I bought the biggest size they have. I think this is great because it allows me to write a lot down, not just essentials but also little things I still have to do, and it looks really pretty. But if you’re not that into big planners or if you usually carry a small bag, you can also go for a medium, small or pocket size version.
All in all I’m a really big fan of the look of this Moleskine planner. I think it looks super chique, fancy and sleek. I really like the black cover and how sturdy it feels. I also think it’s a fun detail that you can re-use the wrap that comes around it and that it comes in a few different sizes. There’s something for everyone!
Moleskine 18 Month Weekly Diary/Planner Hardcover Large – €20,90 (on sale for €10,45)
Aside from different sizes, Moleskine also offers different types of agenda’s. The one I bought has 18 months in it and has the days of the week on one page and a lined page on the other side. This allows you to both keep track of your appointment as well as on your notes. I think it’s really handy to have both things in one place and I like that you keep your notes on the same page as your appointments, so you don’t have to look for them. Since the agenda is really large I think there’s enough space on the appointment side of the planner and if you don’t, you can always write some things on the other side.
However, if you don’t really like the idea of having an entire page for just notes, you can also go for a version that’s just an agenda. Or one with only a day per page. I really depends on what you prefer and on how many appointments you need to write down what will work best for you.
The pages are both lined, but the lines on the planner side aren’t as ‘thick’ or dark as the ones on the notes side. Therefore you don’t have to write on the lines per se, you can also write it down in your own freestyle way. I think this allows me to fit more into a day and I like that. And because the pages are quite long, you can easily fit two appointments next to each other.
Aside from the planner pages a notes pages, there’s a lot more in this agenda. It also comes with a big calendar part in the front, which you can use to write down birthdays for example. It also comes with a page for personal information and emergency contacts and there’s a page bit a map of the world on which you can mark the places you have been. I do think these are fun extra’s, but I’m pretty sure I won’t be using the world map for example. I’m not much of a traveller so I won’t be able to cross off a lot anyway.
Aside from the extra pages, you also get stickers in this agenda. These stickers are hidden in the little opening on the inside of the back-cover. I do think that these are very basic stickers and not necessarily in very pretty colours so I’m not sure if I’ll ever use them, but it’s always a nice touch. A nice little extra.
All in all this planner isn’t just a planner, it comes with a lot more than just that. Some features are not specifically useful to me, but that doesn’t mean they are not going to be useful or fun for anyone else. I think they make this agenda a whole and since it doesn’t make it very heavy I don’t mind it being in there.
The very last thing I want to mention about this Moleskine agenda is the fact that it stays open. That sounds a bit weird, but I’m sure you know the struggle of agendas like this one closing every time because you don’t have anything hefty holding the pages down. That doesn’t happen with this friend. It’s made in a way it stays open perfectly and you don’t need anything to hold it down. This might be a bit of a ‘first world problem’, but to me that’s a very nice touch.
In conclusion I think it’s clear that I’m a huge fan of my new Moleskine 18 Month Weekly Diary/Planner. I think it looks super fancy, it allows me to keep track of both my appointments and my notes and it’s also very well made. I’m a huge fan and because of that I use my agenda a lot more than I used to when I still had another one. I do actually really recommend getting it (now that it’s on sale), especially if you really like to stay organised and need a little help with that.
With that being said I’m going to end today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading this whole thing about a planner. I hope you enjoyed it and please be sure to let me know what agenda/planner you like to use!
