As some of you might know, I’m obsessed with beautyblenders. I’ve been using them for almost a year now and I can’t imagine doing my makeup without them anymore. Even though I’m a big fan of beautyblenders, there is one thing about them I absolutely hate: cleaning them. Everything I tried just didn’t work out. Whether it was baby shampoo, dish soap, bar soap, whatever, it just didn’t work. Therefore I decided to just go ahead and buy the real Beauty Blender Liquid Cleanser. If you’re interested in finding out whether or not it works and whether or not I think it’s worth the money, make sure you continue reading!
The cleanser comes in a really nice packaging. It’s clear and has only a few things written on it. The reason why I like the packaging so much is because it works with a little pump. You can put your dirty beautyblender on top of it, press and the product will come out and go straight onto your blender. I think this makes working with it a lot easier and a lot less messy which is always a plus.
The main reason why I never bought this cleanser is because I think it’s quite overpriced. You pay 20 Euro’s for a bottle with only 150 ml of cleanser which I think isn’t going to last you that long if you wash your blenders regularly. Especially not if you use multiple blenders that you want to wash regularly.
Obviously the cleanser claims a few things. It says that it’s especially made for soaking out tough stains and that it will keep both your beautyblender as well as your brushes squeaky clean. Those claims might not seem that promising, but those of you who own a beautyblender know how hard it get be to get rid of stains, so the fact that this product should be able to remove them is pretty promising (and also kind of hard to believe).
The cleanser has a very specific smell. It’s quite strong but not overwhelming. I have to say that I’m still not completely sure whether or not I like the scent, but it’s not terrible. The scent does stay in the blender for a while after cleaning it but it doesn’t annoy me. It’s better than what it used to smell like back when I used something different.
The cleanser itself seems to be a combination of oil and gel, substance wise. I do like that. I know that oil is great for removing makeup so maybe that’s why this cleanser supposedly works so well. It’s a nice texture to work with. It doesn’t slip and slide right out of your hands, but it doesn’t feel greasy and heavy either.
And when it comes to the results I’m not disappointed at all. It used to take me forever to clean my beautyblender and now it’s done within minutes. I only use one of two pumps and it gets rid of a week full of stains. It’s incredible! My beautyblenders have never been this clean and they’ve never felt this clean either. I’m really amazed by this products.
Another great thing I noticed is that if you use this cleanser your new beautyblenders won’t bleed as much colour as they would when you use regular soap. A month of two ago I bought a brand new red beautyblender and when I washed it for the first time using bar soap pretty much all of the colour came off and now it’s looking pretty dull. When I used this cleanser on a brand new beautyblender it did bleed a little bit of colour but way less than it would have when I would’ve used something else. I think that’s a very big plus!
So if you’d ask me if this cleanser is worth the price tag I would say yes. I still think it’s way overpriced and I still believe that there has to be something in this world that works just as great, but for the time being I think this stuff is incredible and worth the investment. I highly recommend giving it a try!
The Beautyblender Liquid BlenderCleanser is available at stores such as Douglas for €19,95.
That was it for today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know what you use to cleanse your blender!
XOXO, Nicole.
