Recently Wayne Goss, the famous internet makeup artist, uploaded a video raving about the The Ordinary makeup primers. He was flipping out about how amazing they were for such a small amount of money. After watching that short, 4 minute, video I immediately decided to order both primers. One day later while I was scrolling through another webshop that sells The Ordinary I came across a few more products that I was interested in and I ordered those as well. Aside from that I also bought a gorgeous set of makeup by IT Cosmetics. Today I’m going to show you what I bought! If you’re interested in finding out, make sure you continue reading.
So, let’s start off with the whole reason why I bought something by The Ordinary: the primers. The Ordinary has two primers in their collection: the Adherence Silicone Primer and the High-Spreadability Fluid primer. Wayne explained that the silicone primer would be amazing for people with oily skin. It’s supposed to really lock in your makeup and keep everything in place all day.
The High-Spreadability Fluid Primer was supposed to be better for more normal or dryer skin. It comes in a very interesting packaging and it has a very different structure. Even though my skin is more on the oily side rather than on the dry side, I ended up buying both since they are so affordable and I’m just really excited about both of them.
The Adherence Silicone Primer by The Ordinary costs £3,90.
The High-Spreadability Fluid Primer by The Ordinary costs £5,50.
I bought both products at victoriahealth.com.
Next up I bought a few skincare products. Products that either seemed very interesting to me or products that I just really missed in my current skincare routine. The first product I added to my basket was the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. This is a serum you can apply before applying your moisturiser both in the morning and at night.
The next product I added is the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. I added this because I read on a blog that this was a highly effective product and I wanted to see whether or not that’s true for myself. Niacinamide is a very beneficial product for your skin. It helps with tackling acne, it protects your skin from the sun and it also helps if you’re struggling with irritation on your skin. I really can’t wait to give this a try
The Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 by The Ordinary costs €6,80.
The Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% by The Ordinary costs €5,90.
Onto the next product I bought. This is the Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%. I was in need of an exfoliating product in my routine because I just didn’t have that at all so when I found out that this is an exfoliating serum I immediately added it to my shopping basket. This serum is supposed to remove dead skin cells from your face and make your face feel and look as new. I’m excited about that!
The last The Ordinary product I got is the Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. This is a product you can put on your eye-area and it will reduce puffiness. Because I ended up getting a very bad reaction from the last eye cream that I used I decided I’d give this one a shot. I have quite puffy eyes in the morning so I’m curious to find out how this product will reduce that!
The Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% by The Ordinary costs €6,79.
The Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG by The Ordinary costs €6,70.
I bought all four products at deceim.com.
Aside from buying a ton of The Ordinary products I also bought a little set of makeup on QVC. They had their first IT Cosmetics Today Special Value and I needed to have it. So, I ordered it. The set contains the famous Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer, the CC+ Cream, the pressed version of the Bye Bye Pores powder and a double ended brush you can use for blending out your concealer and foundation.
This set is just a really great value and ever since I tried the IT Cosmetics Brow Power I’ve been wanting to try out more from this brand which is why I ended up buying it.
This IT Cosmetics Perfection Complexion Face Kit is available at QVC for £65,- (was on sale for £42,94).
And that pretty much concludes today’s post. That’s everything I bought. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and be sure to let me know which product you want me to review (first)!
XOXO, Nicole.
