One of the products that came inside this month’s LF Beauty Box is the The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors + HA moisturiser. Like most of you guys know I have been trying lots of the products from this brand and I have loved each and everyone of them. Therefore getting this one inside the box was quite exciting. I immediately started testing it and after almost a month of testing I think it’s about time for the review. If you’re interested in finding out more about this product, make sure you continue reading!
First things first: the packaging. Like we’re used to from The Ordinary, the packaging of the product is very clean and simple. The moisturiser comes in a plastic tube that is grey and white. The text on it is black. It’s very simplistic but it’s also very pretty in my opinion. Even though it’s a very affordable product it doesn’t look very cheap and I think that’s a big plus.
The moisturiser comes with 30 ml of product which is a pretty standard amount for moisturiser. Because you only need a little bit of product every time you use it, a tube like this will last you for quite some time.
On the back of the tube The Ordinary tells us a little bit more about this moisturiser. Like I’ve mentioned in my other The Ordinary reviews, they don’t like making claims regarding their products. They only tell you how it works and what the specific ingredients can do for your skin. In this case they literally give us no information, which is why I went on the web and looked up what the ingredients do for your skin.
This product contains amino acids. Amino acids are great for healing skin cell damage, they hydrate the skin and keep the skin looking radiant and youthful and give your skin strength. They probably do a lot more things, but the most important thing in this case is the hydrating effect.
The texture of this moisturiser is quite unusual. It’s not very fluid, rich, creamy or buttery. It’s a bit more of a mousse texture. It’s very hard to describe, but a thick mousse is the best way I can describe it at this point. Because of that light weight texture it is very easy to blend into the skin and it doesn’t feel heavy on top of the skin.
Another great thing about the consistency is that it is very spreadable. A little bit of this product goes a very long way and that’s something you have to get used to. I always grab a little too much product than I actually need. But once you get the hang of it, it saves you a ton of product!
When it comes to actually hydrating and moisturising the skin, I think this moisturiser does a pretty decent job. I’m not as over the moon as I was when I first tried the amazing Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel, which is absolutely incredible, but for what it is: just a very simple, basic but effective moisturiser, I think it does an amazing job.
Because the product did feel a little thick at first I was nervous it would be a bit too heavy and greasy for my skin. Luckily there wasn’t anything to be nervous about in the end since the product is actually great for all skin types, even the somewhat oilier ones, and that’s great.
The last thing I want to tell you guys about this moisturiser is that it’s fragrance free and very sensitive. I definitely think this is the way to go if you have very sensitive skin since it doesn’t harm the skin at all. Not even a little bit. I think it’s one of the most effective, mild moisturisers!
Overall I think this moisturiser by The Ordinary is just lovely. It does what a moisturiser is supposed to do and nothing more or less than that. It has a great texture, suitable for all skin types, and it hydrates the skin very well. I think it’s one of the best, most effective yet basic, moisturisers on the market!
The The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors + HA is available at Deciem for €5,80 (3o ml).
That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which moisturiser you currently use!
XOXO, Nicole.
