October is officially over and that means that it’s time for an October’s favourites post. October was a really amazing month for me. Obviously it was my birthday month, but I also did a lot of fun things. I went shopping with my mom in Rotterdam, I went shopping with my best friend and I tried a lot of new interesting makeup products. In today’s post I’m going to share some of my top favourites of last month with you guys. So, If you’re interested in finding out which products I have fallen in love with throughout October, make sure you continue reading this post!
Let’s start this post off with two budget favourites. Starting with the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer. I ordered this a while ago just because it was heavily discounted and I thought it looked really pretty. I didn’t have extremely high hopes for it and expected it to be pretty sheer. However, it surprised me. It surprised me big time. In fact this ended up being a really amazing concealer. It has a very nice and lightweight consistency that looks very natural and is easy to work with. In addition to that it offers amazing coverage and brightens up my entire under-eye area. I think it’s a great concealer for those days where I didn’t get enough sleep and really need something to make me look alive.
My other budget proof favourite is the Essence Colour Correcting Concealer in the yellow colour. For the longest time I had been using the pink one, thinking that was the best one out of the four they used to have. However, that one was almost empty and I saw that they currently only stock the yellow and green version. I ended up ordering the yellow shade and lord oh lord. This works amazing for me. It really does cancel out the darkness underneath my eyes. It really freshens up my complexion and, in combination with a good concealer, it makes me look so awake and well rested! It’s an amazing product!
Moving on to some skincare products. This month I decided I wanted to get more into skincare and I ended up ordering a couple of new products. One of which was the Chanel Gel Puréte. This was my first ever Chanel skincare product and girl, it’s amazing. It’s a really nice gel that does a great job at removing all of my makeup, leaving my skin feeling incredibly soft and silky. It does have quite a lot of perfume in it, but that doesn’t bother me all that much.
Along with the Chanel cleanser I also tried out the Rituals The Ritual Of Namaste Skin Brightening Face Exfoliator. It comes in a really pretty tube and it has an amazing fresh citrussy scent to it. I do not use this on a daily basis because over-exfoliating can be harmful. But when I do use it, I love it. This is a very mild exfoliator with very tiny scrubbing particles. It makes your skin extremely soft and smooth. However, that’s not the best thing about it. What I love so much about it, is the fact that it’s very hydrating. While normally oily skin can feel a bit dry and uncomfortable after cleansing, this makes it feel super nourished. It’s not something that will make sense now that you’re reading it, but once you try it, you’ll get what I mean.
The last skincare favourite of the month is my new Philosophy Purity Made Simple Moisturiser. I recently discovered its existence and since I’m a huge fan of the Purity Made Simple Cleanser I had to try it. This moisturiser is quite similar to my favourite Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel, but I feel like this one is a bit more hydrating. It makes my skin feel really nourished, smooth and soft. It’s perfect for using at night and in the morning, before you apply your makeup.
Having discussed the skincare part of this post, let’s go back to makeup. This month I started with updating my brush collection and I did that by buying two Bobbi Brown brushes. The first one I bought is the Bobbi Brown Face Blender. This is just the most amazing, multi-functional face brush. The hairs are incredibly soft and the quality is just phenomenal. I love using it for powder, bronzer, blush and pretty much every powdery product you can think of. It applies it so evenly and beautifully without any effort!
When I realised how amazing the Face Blender was, I decided to buy the Bobbi Brown Powder Brush as well. I mean, why the hell not. This one is a bit bigger and it did have a strong scent to it at first. After washing it a couple of times the scent luckily went away and now I’m left with the best powder brush on earth. The bristles are incredibly soft and the shape is just perfect for applying powder all over the face. It works like a dream and I’m really glad I finally bough it.
Moving on to two eyeshadow palettes I’ve been loving this month. Starting off with the Zoeva Cocoa Blend Voyager Palette my boyfriend gifted me for me birthday. I got this a couple of weeks before my birthday so I had plenty of time to test it out before the big day. All in all I think this is the most amazing little autumn palette. It has everything in it that I need there to be and the colours are just perfect for me. I also think that the quality is amazing, thanks to which I think this palette has definitely become a favourite of mine! I can’t stop using it!
The other palette I’ve been loving is an old favourite. It has been included in many of my favourites posts, including this one. I’m talking about the Stila Eyes Are The Window Palette in Soul. I actually repurchased it this month because my favourite colours are almost gone. It’s just my ideal palette for everyday use. It’s the palette I use for my signature look and it’s a palette I can’t go without. This month I’ve tried experimenting with it and using different colours that I’d normally would, and that has left me loving this palette even more than I already did.
The last favourite I wanted to include in today’s post is the stunning Nars Man Ray Double Take Highlighter. It’s from last years holiday collection and back then I was already in love with it, but this month I’ve definitely rediscovered it. It’s a highlighter that’s definitely not for everyone, but I love it. The thing with it is that it isn’t extremely intense. It’s not blinding like most popular highlighters are. So if that’s what you are looking for, this little booger is not for you.
However, what this is, is a very pretty sort of glossy highlighter. It is a whole different look but I really love it. It’s very natural and it’s unique. I do think that because it’s glossy rather than blinding it looks more luxurious and sophisticated. It’s wearable and this month it has definitely been my go-to highlighter for everyday wear. I just really love the way this looks on my cheeks!
With that being said I think I covered everything I wanted to mention in today’s post.I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know what your October favourites were!
