Recently my boyfriend gifted me this NYX Round Lipstick. Back in the day I used to use these lipstick a ton. They were very popular and everyone had so many of them. Today I’m reviewing one in a very pretty bright pink shade called Shiva. If you’re interested in finding out whether or not it’s a great lipstick, make sure you continue reading!
First things first: the packaging. Back in the day I used to love the way the NYX Round lipsticks were packaged and I have to say that I still don’t hate it. It might just be because it’s a bit nostalgic to me, or because I just like the way it looks. I don’t really know. Anyway, the outside of the packaging is almost completely black. On the lid it says NYX in white letters and on the bottom of the lipstick you’ll find a little clear thingy filled with a rubbery thing which matches the colour of the lipstick.
I think it’s so handy when lipsticks have that colour swatch at the bottom. This way it’s so easy to find out which colour it is when you’re looking through your lipstick drawer. And aside from that I also think it looks pretty cool.
Like I mentioned before, this lipstick is called Shiva. I really like that name by the way! Shiva is a very unique colour. It’s definitely not like anything I already own and I like that. It’s a very bright pink, almost purply colour with a blueish sheen to it. It’s very unique and also quite daring, but I do love it.
Usually I’m not that into bright lipstick and especially not if they also have a unique coloured sheen to it, but for some reason I do like this one. I’ve worn it a few times and I actually think it looks pretty good on the lips. So even for those of you who are just like me and usually just stick to the nudes or corals, this could actually be something you might like!
The texture of the NYX Round lipsticks is actually what I like most about them. They are a little bit waxy but also very creamy. I have to say that I never, ever, used a lipstick that applied as smoothly and quickly as these NYX lipsticks. I don’t know what it is about them but they just glide over the lips like no other. Because it’s so quick to apply i was a bit scared it would end up looking horrible since it is quite a bright shade and I wasn’t too careful with it, but as you can tell it actually looks pretty okay.
Pigmentation wise I think it’s okay. It’s not the most rich and pigmented lipstick on the market, but it’s not at all what I would call a sheer lipstick. It shows up, it’s definitely a colour that pops and it just looks good.
When it comes to lasting time it’s again not the best you can find on the market, but it’s not the worst either. The thing I like about it is that it fades really evenly. It’s not one of those bright coloured lipsticks that only fade on the inside and leave you walking around like a clown with only a bright pink line around your lips and no colour on the inside. I think that’s a huge, huge plus!
Overall I think this lipstick is a hit. It’s super affordable, the colour is pretty, I like the packaging, it’s incredibly easy to work with and it just feels really nice on the lips. It’s one of my favourite bright coloured lipsticks at this moment and if you’re on the hunt for one I highly recommend giving it a go!
The NYX Round Lipstick in Shiva is available at Douglas for €4,35.
That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know how you like this shade!
XOXO, Nicole.
Wat een toffe kleur! De kwaliteit klinkt ook erg fijn. Ik houd ervan als een lipstick natuurlijk slijt, dan ziet het er niet zo lelijk uit als je even niet bijwerkt.
